Materials needed Stocking (front and back) and holly berries (optional)/red: 1/3 yard Lining/Green: 1/3 yard (can be the same as the binding) Binding, hanging loop and holly appliqué/green: 1/8 yard Cuff, heel and toe appliqués/tan: 8 x 18" Flannel: 1/3 yard Lite Steam-a-Seam 2 fusible adhesive: two 9 x 12" sheets Sulky Tear-Easy stabilizer: 9 x 18" piece Optional: 3/8 buttons for holly berries Additional supplies and tools - I used coordinating Sulky 40wt rayon thread for quilting and satin stitching. - You ll also need an iron, fabric and paper scissors, and a fine point marker for tracing the templates. Instructions 1. Refer to the cutting and piecing page for cutting instructions. 2. Trace the templates onto the paper side of your fusible adhesive leaving approximately ½ between tracings. Trace the dashed stitching and placement lines also, if desired. 3. Roughly cut the templates from the adhesive just outside of the traced line. 4. Place the adhesive templates onto the wrong side of their corresponding appliqué fabrics and fuse in place according to manufacturer s instructions. 5. Neatly cut the appliqués from the fabrics on the traced template lines. 6. Transfer the dashed stitching lines to the right side of the fabric with a non-permanent pen or pencil, if desired. You can use a light table or daylit window. 7. Peel the paper backing from the appliqués and arrange them on the stocking front piece. Fuse appliqués into place. If desired, buttons can be used in place of holly berry appliqués. Add buttons to stocking after step Place the Sulky Tear-Easy stabilizer behind the stocking front piece and satin stitch the raw edges of the appliqués, using Sulky Premium 40 wt rayon thread. Using a straight stitch add veins to holly on marked lines. Remove the stabilizer after stitching.. 9. Flannel is used in place of batting in this project to reduce bulk a bit. Place flannel piece and stocking front piece wrong sides together. Repeat step to place flannel and stocking back piece together. 10. Quilt as desired. I used a straight stitch, in matching thread, around each appliqué s satin stitching. I stitched a meandering stitch on the red stocking front and back in contrasting thread. 11. Piece the stocking and lining together and make hanging loop, as shown on the cutting and piecing page. 12. Bind as usual, using the 2¼ strips cut from the green fabric. Position hanging loop and and stitch in place.

4 Party with Patrick/July 2013 Stocking for Stuffing All seams are stitched at ¼". 1. From the red stocking fabric, cut two stocking pieces using the stocking pattern. 2. From the green binding fabric, cut a 2¼ x 42" strip for the binding and hanging loop. From this, cut a 6" length for the loop. 3. From the lining fabric, cut two stocking pieces using the stocking pattern. The remaining fabrics will be used for appliqués. Cutting Piecing 1. Pin stocking front and back pieces right sides together. Stitch around the stocking, leaving top edge open, and removing pins as you sew. Repeat to sew lining pieces together. 2. Place stocking lining unit inside stocking with wrong sides together, baste top edge together. 3. To make the hanging loop, fold edges of 1¾ x 6" rectangle to center of fabric, wrong sides together and press. Fold piece in half again to cover raw edges. Edge-stitch along folded edges. 9 Easy Key Lime Pie INGREDIENTS Recipe from allrecipes.com 1 (9 inch) graham cracker crust 3 cups sweetened condensed milk 1/2 cup sour cream 3/4 cup key lime juice 1 tablespoon grated lime zest 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 2. In a medium bowl, combine condensed milk, sour cream, lime juice, and lime rind. Mix well and pour into graham cracker crust. 3. Bake in preheated oven for 5 to 8 minutes, until tiny pinhole bubbles burst on the surface of pie. Do not brown! Chill pie thoroughly before serving. Garnish with lime slices and whipped cream if desired. Mix crumbs, butter, and sugar in a bowl. Press mixture into a 9-inch pie plate. Use a spoon to press the crumbs up the side of the plate and the side of your hand to press down on the top. 2.
