1 FROM OUR PRESIDENT March-April 2016 This winter has flown by. I have finished a few quilts this winter, one that I have been working on for two years. Now I am turning my sites to the July Quilt show. It is an expectation that every member will submit at least one quilt to the show. It has been two years since our last show. I imagine everyone has completed one quilt in that time. Get that binding on and get that Commit to Hang form submitted :) The Gift Gallery is in need of inexpensive (value under $20) gifts, the silent Auction is in need of items for the auction, Door Prizes are needed for our guests to win (any new, unused item, something you thought you couldn't live without and then you could) ribbons are needed for our show winners. I am looking forward to National Quilt Day. I know Kay and her team have been working hard to make it a memorable day. I am glad this is now an annual event that we share with quilters everywhere. If you are looking for something to do on National Quilt Day, consider working on something for the show. I look forward to see many of you on the 19th. Keep sewing, Judy Heckathorn Show and Tell at each meeting-bring your quilts for all to share and admire! 1

6 Quilt Show: Save the Date: July 15 & 16 (Friday & Saturday), 2016 Quilt Show Update Starting in January, we will have the volunteer list available for sign up. The Commit to Hang Form is now up and running on our website. It would be a good idea to gather all of your information together before you start to input each quilts information onto the CTH form. Once you have filled out all of the information and have submitted the CTH form, you will receive a summary of your quilt information. Review this carefully. You will have the opportunity to correct any errors at this time. If you believe all is correct, all you have to do is submit it again. If, perchance, you have discovered an error after the final sending, you will need to send any corrections to Laura Baert. laura_baert@yahoo.com The Quilt Show Committee will be running an incentive program for the CTH forms. Each month those who have submitted forms will put their name in for a drawing. Also, all of those members who submit 5+ quilts in our show, will have a chance at a drawing to be held at our last meeting in June. 8 Hi, I m Debi Kinney your Librarian. Books will be set out before each meeting. If you have any suggestions for books please let me know. I hope to order books that would appeal to everyone in the guild. Because of space I won t be able to set out all the books but will try to keep the most popular out. Books are stored in a cabinet and will be open to look at them as well. The previous board members have set up the following way to deal with late or missing books: Books can be checked out for 1 month at a time. They can be renewed. Books that are overdue will have fines of: $1.00 per book for 1st month past due. $3.00 per book for 2 months past due. $5.00 per book for 3 months past due. Four months or late the charge will be the full price of the book. Also if the member cannot attend the guild meeting, she must notify the librarian before the meeting or the day after the meeting to avoid a fine. I will try to send out reminders before the meeting To check out a book just fill out the card that is in the book. Give the card to me. To check it back in, just return the book to me. Please pay any fines you owe to me at the meeting.
