As the quilt show date rapidly approaches, October 6-8, we want to keep you as updated about the show as we possibly can via this electronic means. You will be receiving future quilt show updates as needed. Since this is the first time ever to communicate information to members in this way, we would appreciate your constructive feedback. Please read the information listed below. There s a lot more work to do before show time so watch your for the next quilt show update! 2 Kate Laucomer Martha Lane Auctions Colonel Linda Underwood will be our auctioneer again for this auction. BUT imagine an auction with nothing to bid on! Such a sad thought. At the timing of this writing, we had three very nice, but sad, lonely items for the live auction. We need more items! We depend on the proceeds of this auction to help with the LQG budget for the next two years. Please bring your donations to the September meeting if possible. Contact Kate Laucomer ( ) if you have any questions Silent Auction DeEtte Turgeon is telling us she is in need of donated items for the Silent Auction! Of course quilters are always interested in sewing and quilting items like thread, scissors, cutting mats and rotary cutters, pins, quilting books and patterns, fabric precuts (charm packs, layer cakes, jelly rolls, etc.) but don t forget about those non-quilting items like home accessories, especially seasonal items (the holiday season is fast approaching), edible items like chocolates, teas and coffees. And don t forget about gift cards to restaurants, the movies, a spa, or your favorite store! Finished pieces make great silent auction items too table runners, small wall hanging, tote bag, etc. Now that we ve given you some ideas, maybe you and a couple of your member friends can go together and make a theme basket to donate. Glenda Johnson is looking for a lot of volunteers to be Ticket Takers and White Glovers. What does a Quilt Take Down Sue McKee-Neil Raffle Quilt Joni Sauter

3 Ticket Taker do? Well it s a standing or seated position. Ticket Takers are quilt show greeters and they check to make sure that guests attending the show are wearing their wristband they received when paying their admission to see the show. Each day there will be a different color of wristband. A White Glover is a person that wears white gloves, walks around the showroom floor, answers guest questions and offers to show them the back of a quilt if they re interested in seeing it. Remember, guests are not supposed to touch the quilts. White gloves will be provided for White Glovers or they are welcome to bring their own if they prefer. You ll also secretly keep a watchful eye for items that are not supposed to walk away! Celebrate Community Wall Quilt Challenge Phyllis Higley and Kristie Jarchow want to remind you that there is not a special entry form to enter your wall quilt challenge quilt. You will use the same procedure to enter your wall quilt challenge quilt as you do to enter your quilts in the show. Just remember to check the appropriate places on the entry form to indicate it is for the wall quilt challenge. Contact Phyllis ( ) or Kristie ( ). Quilters Community Center The Quilters Community Center is where you ll want

4 to take some time to relax and connect with others while attending the quilt show. The Center will be located in the room just across from where the vendors and your quilts will be on display! The Quilters' Community Center (free with the price of admission) will be an area to take some time to relax and connect with others while attending the Quilt Show. Several demonstrations and lectures are being planned daily as well as some Make It and Take It projects. The Quilters Community Center chairs, Mary Sedlak and Sara Kenny, are so appreciative of the response they ve received from their request of double knit fabric from members at the July LQG meeting, that they re pretty sure they have an adequate amount and are no longer looking for more. Thanks to all who parted with or donated double-knit fabric from their private collections! Be sure to watch future issues of the Quilt Show Newsletter for more details from Mary and Sara about lectures and demonstrations and other shenanigans that will be going on in the Quilters Community Center! A BIG Thank You! Raffle Quilt Moms, Joni Sauter and Joan Yoder are shouting from the rooftops, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Thank you Lincoln Quilters Guild members for your awesome support of the Raffle Quilt Ticket Sale Blitz held during the August LQG meeting! Can you believe we sold 740 tickets that one evening? Only 48 members purchased 10 or more tickets before the August meeting. We are happy to report that now 96 members have purchased 10 or more tickets. Only 304 tickets remain unsold. So if you haven t purchased your raffle tickets yet, you better do so quickly! Because when they re gone they re gone and no additional tickets will be printed! Unsold raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the September guild meeting in packs of 10 for $20 (10 $2/ticket) so remember to bring cash with
