1 August Well, the Dog days of Summer are fully upon us. The dictionary defines the dog days as the period between July 3 and August 11. Unfortunately, here in Florida, the dog days like to come early and linger through Septermber. Keep cool! Come and visit Quilt a Bit in air conditioned comfort!! We want to thank all of you who came out for our Christmas in July. Those of you who couldn t make it, don t despare, our Christmas fabrics, stockings, and kits are still available. From beginner to advanced, there is sure to be something to catch your eye. Make sure you check out the pictures from the Christmas Tree Twister class. The finished projects showed just how twisted we can be. We had a full house for Robin s Sidelines Quilt class (see pictures). We like to keep the classes to a managable amount, depending on what type of class it is, so that beginners and advanced quilters alike will get any instruction they might need. Our UFO Club has started up again. If you have any unfinished projects hidden in the back corner of your closet, dig them out and come to our Wednesday UFO Club. For just $5.00 a week, you get to sit and socialize with other procrastonators and in October we ll have a show and tell, refreshments, and prizes! As always, Bingo was a fun way to spend an hour with friends. This months theme is Tropical and as requested there will be a larger selection of fat quarters available to choose from. Our new Sand and Surf 7 month Block of the Month has started. There are still openings for any of you who might be interested. You get to chose your color, Sand (beige/pinks/yellows) or Surf (beige/blues/greens), and you can either pick up your block and go, or sit and sew here. Our Catalina Block of the Month (already 3 blocks in) and Tulia Batik Mondays still have openings. Don t forget about our Bench Pillow class starting in August. Each month is a different theme. We ll be starting with Welcome Autumn. Sign up for all, or choose the ones you want.
