401 Traditional - All thers Nine-Patch Crazy by Elsie Nogle At some quilt show (I don't remember which one) I saw a Nine-Patch quilt like this one and liked it so well that my Nine-Patches went into the same pattern. Machine pieced. Machine quilted. Quilted by: Eileen Merrick
402 Traditional - All thers Nature's Stepping Stones by Bonnie Frederick This is my first paper-piecing project. I took a class in September, 2010, from Linda Tellesbo, and she challenged me to have it ready for the 2011 quilt show. I wasn't sure I would have it done in time, but here it is! Machine pieced. Machine quilted. Quilted by: Barbara Magill Credit: Stepping Stones paper pieced quilt pattern by Judy Niemeyer
403 Traditional - All thers Cherry Blossom Swirl by Cathy Lewis I love to challenge myself---smetimes. I saw this wonderful fabric and really had to think about what I could do with it????? And, THEN--- when I found the pattern in one of my older magazines, I knew this was it!!! (But, an acorn block? Hum-m-m.) Machine pieced. Machine quilted. Quilted by: Lisa Johnson Credit: Swirling Acorns, by Pine Tree Country Quilts/The Quilter Magazine/November 2008
404 Traditional - All thers She Did It! by Veronika Parsons Several co-workers in our group have had a bout with breast cancer. My friend decided to walk in the 3-day for the cure. This was her first time walking, and she completed the 60 miles. I decided to make her this quilt. Now she can always remember. My first real pieced quilt. Machine pieced. Machine quilted. Quilted by: Jenny Pedigo
405 Traditional - All thers Mystery Paisley by Anne Pennella This was a mystery quilt. I selected the fabrics while on a field trip to Bayside Quilting in lympia. Machine pieced. Machine quilted. Quilted by: Bobby Hyland Credit: Mystery quilt pattern ( Undercover in Houston II ) by Debbie Caffrey
406 Traditional - All thers The Garden I Will Never Have by Pat Christenson I saw this quilt in a book. It caught my eye, because at first glance it seems so random. When I went to put it together, I found I could not do it randomly. I had to have some kind of order to it. Well, maybe next time. Machine pieced. Machine quilted. Quilted by: Bobby Hyland Credit: From Freddy Moran and Gwen Marston's Collaborative Quilting
407 Traditional - All thers Rainforest Serendipity by Cathy Lewis Serendipity is a "gift for finding good things accidently;" and when I found this fabric, it was most ACCIDENTLY!!! I was on a trip to see my mother in regon and was only going to stop at NE quilt shop, and what more can I say? I love it, and it was fun and quick to do! Fabric is Enchanted Rainforest by Maywood Studio. Machine pieced. Machine quilted. Quilted by: Lisa Johnson Credit: "Fire Escape" Atkinson Designs pattern
408 Traditional - All thers Dependable Nine Patch by Ann Sturgeon I love scrap quilts. Eighty-five percent of the nine patches are made with old scraps. The border and backing were fifty-percent-off sale price fabrics. Machine pieced. Machine quilted. Quilted by: Claudia Johnson Credit: The book, Miss Rosie s Quilt Collection. The Pattern, "Loose Change"
409 Traditional - All thers Bright Spiral by Jenny Schmidt When I lived in California, I met with a quilting group called "The Fabric Hackers. ver the years, most of us have moved across the country, but we have retained our friendship and have started posting online. ne of these friends suffered a stroke recently, and, as part of her therapy, she finished some of her in-progress quilting projects. ne in particular left us all in awe. It was a bright Log Cabin block swap she had done with an about.com group. Three of us were so inspired that we decided to do a swap of our own to create similar quilts. I had never made many bright quilts before, so this was new for me. I almost went blind from trying to place all the blocks into the spiral layout once all the blocks came back, but I'm so glad we did this! The backing fabric was found at the Fabric Purge consignment sale in Seattle. I'm thrilled to say my friend is almost back to her former glory and my quilt is finished! I love how this turned out. Machine pieced. Machine quilted. Quilted by: Susan List of Modesto, CA Credit: Judy Akers of San Jose, CA
410 Traditional - All thers Burgoyne Surrounded by Melanie Burton This is a traditional quilt that I learned from a friend, John Burgoyne, from Utah, that it is traditionally done in red. It looks fabulous with red sheets and pillows on my bed. Machine pieced. Machine quilted. Quilted by: Barbara Jackson
411 Traditional - All thers President's Quilt by Charlotte Tucker BPQ members created the squares, provided a quote or an inspirational thought, signed the block and gave matching fabric. I created blocks to remind me of the activities and challenges of each month and put together the connecting blocks. Machine pieced. Machine quilted. Quilted by: Krista Withers
412 Traditional - All thers Midnight Stars by Melanie Burton I was fascinated by black and white and made this for my bed. Machine pieced. Machine quilted. Quilted by: Barbara Jackson Credit: Designed by Jean Ann Wright from J/A 2009 Fons & Porter s Love of Quilting
413 Traditional - All thers Garden of Friendship by Janet Hayes I took a class of Carol Doak's at the Houston Quilt Show last year. I really like paper piecing; therefore, I wanted to make a quilt with a beautiful design in the center. I intend to give this quilt to one of my best friends for her birthday next year. Machine pieced. Machine appliquéd. Machine quilted. Quilted by: Toni Nicholes Credit: The center design is by Carol Doak
414 Traditional - All thers Black and White by Melanie Burton I made this quilt for Richard A. Dickson, retired Financial Analyst, writer, for his birthday. It is a quilt with a full fall, designed for a man. There are also five pillows to complement this quilt. Machine pieced. Machine quilted. Quilted by: Barbara Jackson Credit: Designed by Julia Pope from M/A 2008 Fons & Porter s Love of Quilting
