At one point in time you made the decision to join, commit and become a member of your LEADERship class. Not only was it a financial commitment, it was also a time commitment. Many of you are active Alumni members. Many of you donate time and resources back to the Alumni. But, there are those who are inactive. Inactive in paying your annual dues, and inactive in coming to lunches, events, etc. We want to know WHY! What can we do to make you more involved and to come back to the fraternity/ sorority of leaders that you worked hard to become a part of? Please take the time and send us an with your thoughts. State what we can do better so you can have a stronger voice in the Martin County community. We want you back. Annual fees are $0. (Dues $40 & Youth Scholarship donation is $10) What we offer so far: Interaction with the new class of future leaders. 2 Business Person of the Month -- Kevin Kryzda Kevin Kryzda (class 1) is the Chief Information Officer for the Board of County Commissioners. In this capacity he is responsible for all technology investments for the County Commission. He has been working on inter-governmental collaborative for many years now and recently expanded his responsibilities to support the Supervisor of Elections, the Town of Jupiter Island and the Property Appraiser and has been asked to assist the Sheriff and the Clerk in assessing collaboratives to save money and improve efficiency. One of these collaboratives now includes developing a next generation Public Safety Radio System between Martin and St. Lucie Counties. In 011 he lead a project to build a county owned fiber optic network saving over $10 million over 1 years rather than paying for commercial networking services. His current work goes beyond merely managing technology but also includes developing economic opportunities and job creation that may come from investing in broadband infrastructure in a multi-county region spanning Indian River, St. Lucie, Okeechobee, Martin and North Palm Beach Counties. In fifteen years he has hired 13 employees, holds 13 patents, and was recently named one of the 0 Top Companies to Watch in Florida by Florida Trend. ATGI received the Florida Governor s Business Diversification Award for innovation and was honored with the national Tibbetts Award for economic impact of technological innovation by the Small Business Administration. It s the brainy, think-tank stuff that excites Justak, who went to college at Florida Institute of Technology in Jensen Beach and worked in research and development at Pratt & Whitney before starting his firm. 3 Swearing In Ceremony for New Sheriff Former state representative William Snyder takes the oath of office for Martin County Sheriff from Chief Judge Steven Levin as Snyder s son, John Snyder, holds a Bible at the ceremony. Former Sheriff Robert Crowder (class ) who is retiring, welcomes the new Sheriff William Snyder (class 7) as he takes the reins of the new top cop job. The ceremony was on January 8 at the Sheriff s Office flagpole.
