2 Page 2 BOARD MEMBER SPOTLIGHT - MICHAEL SNYDER Michael Jay Snyder is a member of one of the earliest families to settle in North Miami Beach. He was born the eldest of five children to Helen and Arthur Snyder. Father, Arthur Snyder, was former Mayor of North Miami Beach, served as Circuit Court Judge in Miami Dade and was the first Mayor of the City of Aventura. Michael is an attorney who has been awarded the highest rating among his peers. He has followed in his father s foot steps as a community leader. Michael graduated as a Blue Key, and Phi Beta Kappa from University of Florida and was recognized as the outstanding graduating leader of his class. As President of his prestigious national fraternity, he was distinguished as the most outstanding graduate in the country. Along with other leadership roles, he served as President of the North Dade Bar Association and four terms as President of the North Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce. His proudest community accomplishment, however, is his contribution to youth sports. Michael, whose alias is Coach Mike, volunteered his time for 25 years, as a coach of youth sports. With athletic skill, compassion, and humor, he not only improved the technical athletic proficiency of hundreds of youths, but instilled in them a sense of self esteem that they have carried with them throughout their lives. Together with his lovely wife Karen, they have five wonderful children, who they expect will follow the family tradition, of leadership and service to the community. The NMB Chamber Health Fair will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the McDonald Center, NE 19 Avenue, NMB Free Screenings, demonstrations and more!! For Vendor Information, please call !!
