2 Chamber Connections Congratulations To: - Faith on View has ranked Dordt College to its first tier list of Christian Colleges. The college was also ranked No. 11 among Midwest colleges and No. 14 among small colleges. This is the first year that Faith on View has established a college ranking and it included 191 colleges and universities that are distinctively Christian and have this commitment at the core of their educa- philosophy. -The Higher Ed Marketing Report awarded two Educational Advertising awards to Dordt College Marketing Department. 5 Sioux Center CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Agriculture Committee WHAT: Annual Agriculture Appreciation Breakfast WHEN: Wednesday, March 20, :00 AM RESERVATIONS REQUESTED Speaker: Jim McDermott Technical Agronomist Topic: Dry Weather & Implications on 2013 Decisions WHERE: New Life Reformed Church th Street SE Sioux Center, Iowa Jim s Bio: I grew up on a grain and livestock farm in North Central Iowa. After graduating from Britt High School, I attended Iowa State University receiving a double major in Agronomy and Seed Science in I have worked various roles in Agriculture including Crop Consultant, Retail Agronomist, Seed Agronomist, Agronomy Manager and Technology Development. I currently work as a Technical Agronomist for DEKALB/MONSANTO and Asgrow in North Central and Northwest Iowa. I live in Spencer, Iowa with my wife Kris and five children ranging in age from seven to twenty one. My oldest two daughters attend Iowa State University. I am active in the Spencer Community and my church, Sacred Heart. I have served on our school board at Sacred Heart and have taught religious education as well as various other committees. I currently serve as the Chairman of the Certified Crop Advisor Board for the state of Iowa. I enjoy spending time with my children, coaching and helping with their activities. I also enjoy running, playing basketball, fishing and canoeing.
