Please read below to see what s up! ~Interstates Companies is pleased to announce that Scott Peterson, Interstates Companies Chief Financial Officer/Harbor Group President has been named the company s next Chief Executive Officer. He will assume his new role with the start of the company s fiscal year on September 1, Peterson succeeds Larry Den Herder who has held the company s top leadership post since Den Herder will remain Chairman of the Board until his retirement at the end of ~Congratulations to Kayleen Lee on winning the Women of Excellence Award for Women Developing the Community. Kayleen Lee was nominated by the Medical Staff, Executive Board, and Senior Leadership for a Women of Excellence Award in the category of Women Developing the Community. This award honors a woman who impacts her community by envisioning needs, generating ideas and developing solutions that benefit her community. ~ A Shout Out to our very own Tom De Jong, Money Concepts-The Planning Firm; Kristi Segar, Interstates Companies; and Brad Van Berkel, Pella Corp, on being selected to the NW Iowa s 20 under 40! ~Congratulations to Troy Broers, American State Bank, for being recognized as one of two 2013 Iowa Agricultural Development Division (IADD) top lenders through the Beginning Farmer Loan program. ~Congratulations to Leah Netten, Ground Effects, for being a finalist in the Koehler and Dramm Wholesale's 2013 Wedding Design Competition. Only 5 finalists were chosen from a field of 50 entries from a five-state region. ~Seasons Center for Behavioral Health announced that Dr. Lisa Matthews has recently joined their team. She will be joining Dr. Natalie Sandbulte in providing psychological testing services for clients. Psychological testing is a service that Seasons started providing in March of Dr. Matthews will start seeing clients in Sioux Center on April 1 st. ~Culligan of Sioux County would like to recognize their employee, Joyce Binneboese. Joyce started employment with Culligan 1993 and is celebrating 21 years of service with them. She does a great job managing their office and they appreciate all that she does. NW IA Business Summit The Sioux Center Chamber had the privilege to work with Dordt College Center for Economic Education in coordinating the first annual NW IA Business Summit. On tap were a great variety of presenters who taught us everything from marketing to limited liability companies. Our keynote address by Hugh Weber challenged us to think of our community s network structure and how we can make our unique story a universal story. Thank you to everyone who presented and attended.
