4 A Leader of Class 26 Remembered Debi Owens an alumni of Class 26 died on September 14, 2018, at age 64, due to complications from an aneurysm. She and her husband lived in Hobe Sound where she worked as a Vice President and Trust Officer for Wilmington Trust. Debi served on many community boards including The Arts Council, The Humane Society, The Kane Center, CASTLE, The Elliot Museum and Environmental Studies Council. The Arts Council received such a generous response from Class 26 of donations that they have decided to earmark the funds for a special student scholarship. It will be awarded at the Marties Awards in Debi s name as a gift from Class 26. A Celebration of Life Service was held September 29 at Hobe Sound Community Presbyterian Church. Primary Results for the November 6 Elections James Campo (1) running for reelection as Sewall s Point Commissioner. Gayle Harrell (3) won her primary election to run for Florida Senate District 25. Stacey Hetherington (14) won her primary election to run for County Commissioner District 2. Toby Overdorf (9) won his primary election to run for Florida House District 83. David Dyess (15) has been unanimously appointed by the Stuart Commissioners as the new city manager. As the former Stuart police chief, he has been described as the consummate leader and public servant, who s dedicated his life to his hometown. Thanks for making a difference. Ryan Huff (27) has joined The MilCor Group in Hobe Sound. Ryan was with MBV Engineering, Inc. in Stuart. His is ryanh@themilcorgroup.com.
