2 Tel. (262) June 28, 2017 Mr. Steven Braatz, Jr., CMC/WCMC Clerk/Treasurer P.O. Box 206 Mukwonago, WI RE: Chapman Farms Boulevard Dear Mr. Braatz: Bids for the above project were opened on June 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Village Hall and were as follows: Bidder Base Bid 1. Musson Brothers, Inc. $1,154, Willkomm Excavating & Grading, Inc. $1,179, Globe Contractors, Inc. $1,193, LaLonde Contractor Incorporated $1,332, Super Excavators, Inc. $1,433, Wanasek Corporation $1,496, We reviewed the documentation submitted by the apparent low bidder and found that: 1. The Bid Form has been appropriately completed. 2. We have no objections to the low bidder, nor to the proposed major subcontractors and suppliers. 3. Low bidder has successfully completed similar projects over the last several years. On these bases, we recommend that Musson Bros., Inc. be awarded the Chapman Farms Boulevard contract, contingent on DNR approval of project in the amount of $1,154, This amount is based on the bid unit prices and estimated quantities. Actual quantities, and therefore the final contract price, may vary. On all construction projects, and especially complex ones like this, unpredictable factors may increase the final contract amount. For this reason, we recommend that the City include a 10 percent contingency when preparing the financial plan for this work. Our review did not include an evaluation of bidder's current financial condition nor of their permanent safety program. ~ Chapman Farm Development Review > 201 Chapman Blvd West Design > Bidding > Braatz Recommendation of Award.docx~
