1 ADDENDUM 1 CITY OF MEDFORD RIVERSIDE NORTH PARKING LOT ITB BL JUNE 22, 2015 PAGE 1 I. GENERAL: The Bidding and Contract Documents for Riverside North Parking Lot are modified as described in this Addendum. II. ATTENTION IS CALLED TO THE FOLLOWING LANDSCAPE ITEMS: A. Tree Protection for Existing Trees Protect the Critical Root Zone 1) There are three locations of existing trees that require tree protection during the course of construction. a. There is an existing Western Red Cedar along the Eastern side of the construction area near the Top of Bank of Bear Creek. This tree is noted on sheet L-1 as existing and to remain. The Critical Root Zone for this tree is defined as a radius of 15' from its center in a semi-circle until it intersects the Top of Bank on either side. b. There are three (3) Crepe Myrtle in the central parking lot also noted on the plans as to remain. The Tree Protection zone for this grouping of trees is defined as the drip line around the perimeter of the group. c. There is one ering Plumb at the NE corner of the existing building. The Tree Protection zone for this tree is defined as the drip line around the perimeter of the tree. 2) Install 6' tall metal construction fencing surrounding the Critical Root Zone prior to beginning any construction activity. a. Maintain all tree preservation protective fencing until completion of all construction activities. b. None of the following may occur within the Critical Root Zone: - Grade changes, - Parking of equipment, and - Spillage of chemicals, fuel, or other toxins - Storage of materials -Any activity or work not beneficial to the health and well be of the protected tree. 3) Roots that are encountered at the perimeter of the Critical Root Zone of trees to be preserved that may interfere with construction activity, shall be located and pruned as follows: a. Roots encountered within the Critical Root Zone shall be cut using a sharp saw or hand pruners. Roots shall be severed cleanly perpendicular to the long axis of the root and cut ends immediately covered with wet burlap or loam. b. Exposed roots of trees to be preserved shall be covered with burlap, mulch or backfill and kept damp. 4) Water trees throughout the duration of construction, at the rate of one inch of water over the undisturbed Critical Root Zone area per week. B. There are approximately 9 large boulders (minimum of 30" across in any one direction) on the site that are to be reused and placed along the pedestrian pathway coming East from Riverside Avenue. Any movement of the boulder is to be done so as to minimize cracking or gouging of the boulders. The final placement of the boulders will be at the direction of the Landscape Architect after the layout of the pathway and prior to landscape construction. C. Bench pictured along pathway from Riverside is to be purchased and installed by owner.
2 III. REVISIONS TO THE SPECIFICATIONS: ADDENDUM 1 CITY OF MEDFORD RIVERSIDE NORTH PARKING LOT ITB BL JUNE 22, 2015 PAGE 2 A. Changes to Bid Schedule 1) Bid Deadline is being extended to June 30, 2015 at 2:00 PM local time. 2) A second mandatory pre-bid walkthrough has been scheduled Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Those who signed in and attended on Friday, June 12, 2015 need not attend; all bidders must attend one pre-bid meeting to qualify to bid. 3) Item 26.0 Time of Completion and Liquidated Damages Project Completion Date Change the date to January 31, Add to the last sentence: after foul weather days, the following has been added, or unavoidable shipping/delivery delays for critical components, which have been documented by the Owner s Representative to prevent work. B. Document Corrections 1) Section Document Acknowledgement - Project name and additional typographical corrections. See the corrected form included with this Addendum. 2) Section Substitution Request - Document should be Section C. Document Additions 1) Erosion & Sediment Control Plans EC1, EC2, EC3 are included as a part of this document and shown as Appendix 3 under details in Section Document Acknowledgement. IV. REVISIONS TO DRAWINGS: A. SSMH elevations (Delta#1) as shown on Drawing C2 attached. B. Paint Building Wall note and maximum bioswale slopes (Delta#1) as shown on Drawing C3 attached. C. Signal Pole Footing Bench note (Delta#1) as shown on Drawing C3A attached. D. Detention/ Orifice elevation & sizing (Delta#1) as shown on Drawing C5 attached. E.
