1 KATCHAFIRE - Production Rider NEW ZEALAND Shows 2015 Production Manager / FOH Engineer - Kelvin Ballard NZ +64 (0) kelvin.ballard@gmail.com AS OF Nov 17th 2015 General Notes: An English speaking, sober, friendly System Engineer that knows the PA intimately and has access to all system processing - must be present throughout soundcheck and the Show. FOH console must be appropriately situated centre of the venue and protected / separated from the audience. Security must be placed to stop any audience accessing the stage. For Festival Shows we are not too concerned what order the channels are in, please advance proposed patch so we can prepare console files. Katchafire will often tour with various equipment, this can include IEM systems rack, FOH effects rack, Waves Multirack / Soundgrid, various microphones and attachments e.g. Perspex shields etc. We will advise in advance which equipment we will be touring with, so please advance your proposed production spec ASAP. FOH System: Prefer Meyer, L Acoustics, JBL Vertec, D&B Audiotechnik, Martin - To suit venue and anticipated audience size. All system control and EQ to suit, Need separate graphic EQ s and or system parametric for Flown, Groundstacked and Infill systems. If the console is not a digital console then outboard system control and EQ must be supplied. The system must be tuned and time aligned using industry standard analysis software e.g. Smaart or SIM. The system must be capable of producing 110 db SPL at FOH console. The system must include enough Subs with appropriate amplifiers and headroom - Katchafire is a Reggae Act and requires a generous amount of bass / subs. FOH Console: Console preferences are: Yamaha PM5D, Avid Venue D-Show or Profile, Digico SD8, SD10, SD5, SD7, Midas Pro6, Midas XL4 or Heritage. The console of choice is a Yamaha PM5D where ever possible. For which we will require 2x Dante MY16-AUD cards and a MY-ADDA96 card installed c/w necessary cabling and a min 4 port Gbit Switch for Dante. Please advise the type of console ASAP so we can prepare console show files. Note 1: For small events i.e.. less than 500 pple, then monitors can be controlled from FOH and either a Yamaha CL5 or CL3 or M7CL. Avid Venue SC48, Midas Pro3 or Pro2, Digico SD9 are acceptable FOH consoles. Note 2: For boutique events ie. less than 300 pple, monitors will be controlled from FOH and any of the above consoles or a Yamaha LS9 or Soundcraft Si Compact console are acceptable. For both these consoles we will most likely require extra channels by way of outboard AD input capability. 1 of 7

2 FOH Outboard: For Analogue consoles we need a min 13 x Compressors, prefer dbx 160A, AND 8 x Gates, prefer Drawmer 201. For Digital and Analogue consoles we require an inserted outboard L&R system Graphic EQ. If Yamaha PM5D console is used, all onboard comp, gates and effects will be used except for an out board patched TC Live & Waves Multirack or Soundgrid system. For all other digital consoles we will use a mix of onboard and outboard effects, we will advise. Generally our effects (onboard & outboard) are as follows: AUX 1 Hall Reverb Onboard or TC M3000 or SPX2000 AUX 2 Room/Snare Reverb Onboard or TC M-One or SPX2000 AUX 3 Plate Onboard or TC M3000 or SPX2000 AUX 4 Doubler Pitch Change Onboard or SPX2000 AUX 5 Harmoniser TC-Live KATCHAFIRE WILL PROVIDE THIS AUX 6 Brass Delay tap enabled Onboard or TC D2 or 2290 AUX 7 Vox Delay tap enabled Onboard or TC D2 or 2290 NB. Depending on advance arrangements these effects could be replaced with a WAVES Multitrack or Soundgrid, which Katchafire will provide. 3 Monitor Systems: Please supply a competent experienced, English speaking, sober, friendly Monitor Engineer, they must be present throughout soundcheck and the Show. Katchafire uses a mixture of IEM systems and wedge sends. We need provided for our use 4x In Ear Monitor Systems. Sennheiser EW300 IEM or SR2000 IEM or Shure PSM900 or PSM1000. c/w all transmitters, beltpacks, aerial systems, enough batteries for soundcheck and Show or charging system. We will advise if we are touring IEM s and don t require these provided. Monitor wedges must be professional quality, active speakers and components c/w Graphic EQ for each send. Monitors will be controlled from a side of stage monitor console. All stage input channels must be split to the Monitor console. It is preferred that the Monitor console is a digital console whereby the sound checked levels can be saved to scene and recalled for the Show. Note: For smaller events i.e.. less than 500 pple, then monitors can be controlled from FOH. The same monitor sends will still be required. Occasionally at Festivals the IEM sends might be replaced with wedge sends, please discuss with us if this is suggested. The stereo IEM sends can be MONO if there are limited sends available on the console. 5 Lighting: We recognise that lighting varies greatly between different venues. Please discuss with us the proposed lighting. Katchafire has reasonably simple lighting requirements and we can be flexible to suit the event. The most important feature being that all vocalists are well lit during any song that the audience become very vocal i.e.. sing along. We welcome any lighting that will set the atmosphere and mood for each song. We will require a Lighting Operator since we do not tour with one. of 5 7
