3 Primary System Design Constraints Generic fan-shaped auditorium with seating for 6000 (approx main floor, st balcony, nd balcony) Min. SPL of 105 db at back row of (main floor) seating No more than ±5 db variation in SPL over the entire seating space for the 500 Hz, 1 KHz, 2 KHz, 4 KHz, and 8 KHz frequency bands Frequency response of 40 16,000 Hz ± 5 db %ALCONS no greater than 10% over entire seating space Min. 48-channel mixing console Min. of 4 separate monitor mixes with corresponding monitor speaker systems Support for 20 compatible wireless microphone channels Good assortment of general-purpose wired and wireless microphone systems Digital media recording/playback capability All equipment mounted in rack cabinet(s) Budget of $500,000 Slide # 3 of 22

5 System Design Constraints Capacity: 6,782 seats 67 total loudspeakers to meet the 105 db minimum QSC KLA12 frequency response: 44 Hx - 18kHz meets frequency response Average %ALCONS value: 6% with no more than 4% variation Mixing console: Yamaha CL5-72 mixing channels Minimum of four seperate monitor mixes and support for at least 20 wireless microphones led to specific equipment being necessary to satisfy this requirement Microphone package includes over 15 different microphones All necessary equipment is properly placed in racks Budget of $500,000 - spent about $400,000 Slide # 5 of 22

6 Loudspeaker Selection, Placement, and Rigging Criteria: Must have sufficient loudspeakers to achieve 105 db SPL throughout the space while achieving the frequency range of 40Hz - 16kHz Decided between active vs. passive loudspeakers for the theater Narrowed down brands to JBL, Renkus Heinz, QSC, Meyer Sound, & Yamaha QSC KLA 12 selected for both arrays and fills Slide # 6 of 22
