I will respond within 48 hours or less. Instructor Bio David Berger is a painter and draftsman whose work includes, portraits, figures, nudes, animals and landscapes. He exhibits his work throughout the tri-state area and has taught at the Manayunk Art Center, the Art Institute of Philadelphia, The Continuing Studies Programs at both the Academy of Fine Arts and The University of the Arts, UArts Pre-college Saturday School, the former Foundation Department of the University of the Arts, Fleisher Art Memorial and Burlington County College. Course Description: This course enables you to explore the human form as an art practice in relationship to the study of human anatomy. Consider the structure, form and movement of the human body. You will have access to models as well as skeletons, casts and diagrams used to teach anatomy. This course emphasizes a processed-based approach focusing on the analysis of form, construction and perspective. Pre-requisites: no n e Course Objectives/Learning Objectives: At the end of this course, students will: * learn to measure and proportion the human figure * learn to capture gesture and movement of the human figure * learn structural concepts about the figure such as cylinder, block construction and planar analysis * learn to describe the figure through the use of light and shadow * use a variety of materials such as pencil, marker, conte crayon and the use of toned paper

Canson paper, 1 dark color, 50% gray and 1 flesh toned paper Vine charcoal Compressed charcoal C OURSE ACTI V ITIE S Presentations Critiques C OURSE POLIC IES Attendance + Participation All students are expected to attend classes regularly and promptly, and for the duration of the scheduled instructional time. Individual instructors will decide the optimum time for taking attendance and may penalize for habitual lateness of absence. Repeated absences may result in a grade of "F" for the course. Students who withdraw from a course must do so in writing. Nonattendance does not constitute an official withdrawal.
