1 Syllabus: Drawing + Painting SSyll CE 6160C +N 01 Summer 2013 [Pick the date][type the sender company name] Course Information: Location: Anderson 628 Dates: Mon, Jun 3 Aug 5, 6:00-9:00PM Note: Instructor Information: Name: Yikui Gu yikuigu@yahoo.com Policy: Please notify if you will miss class Instructor Bio Yikui (Coy) Gu was born in Shanghai, China and emigrated to the United States at the age of seven, growing up in the New York metropolitan area. He has a BFA from Long Island University and an MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. He has exhibited his art work nationally in New York, Philadelphia, and St. Louis; and internationally in London, Berlin, and Siena, Italy. Some recent highlights include his work being reviewed by the German art critic, Peter Funken, in the January, 2011 issue of KunstForum International; his work appearing on the cover of the Summer, 2011 edition of the Lower East Side Review, a New York City poetry journal; and a recent inclusion in a group exhibit curated by John Vick, Curatorial Fellow at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Coy s work is held in the permanent collections of the Brooklyn Art Library (NYC) and the Siena Art Institute (Siena, Italy). He thoroughly enjoys teaching studio art courses and interacting with his students, with a focus on connecting art history with the contemporary art world. He is currently plotting his take-over of the international art world, yet remains mostly harmless.
