1 Element Superhero/Villain Project You have been hired by Elements of the Universe, a comic book publisher, to create a new superhero whose appearance, characteristics and powers are based on a chosen element in the periodic table. Task : You will conduct research to find information regarding their chosen element. You will complete a My Element Worksheet and then create an Element Superhero/Villain Poster that illustrates this information. Both will be turned in. Drawing of your element superhero/villain requirements A colored drawing of your element superhero/villain on a clean sheet of medium white paper Examples are done from the chosen element sulfur Basic Element information in periodic table form: Element name, symbol, atomic number, atomic mass and atomic model ( ex. Sulfur, S, 16, 32.06) Where does it comes from? (ex. Volcanic emissions..) What can the element use its power for? (ex. Make car batteries, extract minerals..) What are some characteristics and properties? Drawing must correspond to the qualities of your drawing (ex. the superhero should be yellow since sulfur has a characteristic yellow color). Strengths and weaknesses of your superhero/villain based on its characteristics and properties (ex.sulfur works as a good electrical insulator so a strength could be that he can harness and use electricity from things around him) 3 interesting facts (ex. Sulfur is created deep inside massive stars by the fusion of silicon and helium) Creative superhero/villain name (ex. Sulfury)
