1 Original Monologue: Preparation Work & Performance -Performance -Costume -Memorization -Environment created on stage -Floor Plan -Key parts of a scene are clear (conflict, resolution, objective) 1. Find a photograph out of a magazine. a. The photo should be of someone you find interesting and can create a character around. i. The photo should be a decent size so you can see the detail of the photo ii. The photo should be a person in a setting, not just a head shot iii. The photo must be of a real person, not a drawing or cartoon picture b. If the person in the photo is a famous person, you will need to create a character for the person in the picture, not the person you know to be in the photo. c. Once a character background has been developed, a monologue (solo performance) needs to be written from the moment the photograph was taken. i. The monologue should be no less than one minute and no more the three minutes in length. ii. The actor is portraying the character created from the photograph out of the magazine. iii. 6 Create a costume collage a. Through magazine clippings or from photos off the internet, create three costumes looks for your character. b. Make each look complete with all the essential accessories c. The costume maybe similar to what the character is wearing in the original photograph or something that would match the character for a different occasion. d. Each costume is worth 10 points.
