1 This is a great opportunity to use scrap glass generated from other projects. We used all colors found in the Start Up Kit. Beginning with 1" Moss Green square, nip in half. Set in place on white base with firing glue. Note: All pieces will be held in place with firing glue. 3. Draw lines on Caribbean Blue rectangle to make a triangle. Nip along line to form shirt. Nip off tip of triangle. Set in place 4. Make sleeves and shoes from pieces nipped from steps 2,3 or 6.

3 Workshop Instructions continued: Fishing Memories 5. Head is made by nipping corner of yellow square at an angle so hat will sit tipped on top. Draw face with Glassline pen. 6. Draw a half circle on small Moss Green rectangle for hat. Nip around circle. 7. Add black stringer for arms, hands, legs, and neck. 8. On Grape rectangle, draw a triangle with a curved bottom. This when nipped will be the fish. Add a triangular glass chip for tail. Place a piece of orange stringer for it to hang from. 9. Break purple stringer just off the center mark for fishing pole. Center hand in gap. Break purple noodle to form pole handle. With Glassline pen add fishing line. 10. Set millefiori in place for reel. Add glass chips for bobber and any other details you like. These small details will add interest to your tile. 11. Break orange stringer to make brim of hat, belt and shirt collar. 12. Finish decorating with Glasline pen adding a flowing line to form shoreline. 13. Apply firing glue to set the horizon and along the bottom outside edges of tile to keep frit from falling off. 14. Use Teal and Sea Green frits for water. Light Green frit for grass with Violet frit as shadows. Apply frit with fingers or a plastic spoon. Note: A small dry brush can be use to move frit around and to clean it away for other pieces of glass. 15. Apply a line of firing glue around the rest of the tile and in place for clouds. 16. Use White Opal frit for clouds. Add in Sky Blue Frit being careful not to cover the fishing line on pole. Use brush to clean frit from outside edge of tile along shelf.

Clean glass base with Rubbing Alcohol. Clean each additional piece after cutting, before setting in place. 2. Beginning with Ruby Red rectangle, draw lines to form a wide triangle. With glass nipper. nip off tip to make skirt. Set in place on clear base with firing glue. Note: All pieces will be held in place with firing glue. Use a small amount on the back of glass or add directly to base. 3. Repeat with Orange square to make a triangle for shirt. Set in place 4. Make sleeves and shoes from triangle pieces nipped from steps 1 & Draw face on yellow square with glassline pen. (A) 6. On Cobalt Blue square draw shape with marking pen as shown in (B). Nip away corners to form balloon. 7. With black stringer make arms, legs and hands. Use colored stringer for balloon string. (B) 8. Apply dots of firing glue around Yellow head and add Violet frit for hair piling up over the edges of glass. 9. Cut Green stringers for stems and place assorted millefiori flowers. 10. Apply a line of firing glue along bottom and side edge of tile. This will help keep frit inside the tile. Fill in with green grass blue sky and white clouds using small brush to arrange frit and clean any frit from figure. Use brush to clean frit from outside edge of tile. 11. Fire. When cool use file to remove any burs left. Firing Schedule: Contour Tack Segment Rate Temp Hold (A) Note: *All kilns are not alike. Your kiln size, controller type, and individual project may require some alteration to this schedule for best results.
