1 Monster Table Sign Displays & Table Leg Instructions Supplies*: Cardboard Hot glue Magenta, blue, green, orange, and yellow furry fabric Cardstock paper Pool noodles (two for each table) Utility knife Assorted color pom poms Directions: Monster Table Sign Base 1. Using the utility knife, cut out an 18 diameter circle from the cardboard. Cut the circle in half so you have two equal semicircles. These are the sides of the monster. (For safety purposes, we recommend wearing leather gloves when using the utility knife. Never leave the utility knife where children can pick it up.) 2. Cut out a 7 x 18 rectangle to create the base. 3. Cut out two 9 x 3.5 rectangles. Fold in both ends at the 1 mark. This piece should measure 7 x 3.5 when folded. Put aside for Step Cut two 8 x 3.5 rectangles and fold these two pieces in half lengthwise. This piece should measure 8 x 1.75 when folded. 5. Using hot glue, adhere one of the 8 x 3.5 panels to the bottom of one of the semi-circles. See for reference. Attach the second panel to the other semi-circle in the same way. 6. Glue the semi-circle and the base as shown in. 7. Attach the other semi-circle to the other side of the 7 x 10 rectangle. See. *Remember, these are only suggestions. 2 8. Glue the two 7 x 3.5 pieces with the folded 1 tabs from Step 3 to connect both sides of the semi-circle as shown in. Table display 1 1. Using cardboard, cut out two pieces like the ones shown in, and attach on the back side of the front of the face. 2. Cover the inside walls with the blue duct tape as well as the two antennae. See. 3. Cut out two pieces of the blue fabric that measure 7 by 8 and glue it on the two sides of the monster to cover the cardboard. See. 4. Cover the front of the monster s face with the fabric. See. Use the hot glue to attach the fabric to the monster. 5. Use white and magenta cardstock paper to make small eyes, as shown in. Use the hot glue to attach the eyes to the monster. Page 2 of 7

3 Table display 2 1. Cover the inside walls with the green duct tape. See. 2. Cut out two pieces of the green fabric that measure 7 by 8 and glue on the two sides of the monster to cover the cardboard. See. 3. Cover the front of the monster s face with the green fabric. See. Use the hot glue to attach the fabric to the monster. 4. Use white and magenta cardstock paper to make a giant eye, as shown in. Use the hot glue to attach the eye to the monster. 5. Cut out eyelashes out of black cardstock paper, and attach behind the eyes. See. 6. Using yellow construction paper, cut out four little horns. Glue onto the monster s head using the hot glue gun, as shown in Figure 6. Figure 6 Page 3 of 7

4 Table display 3 1. Using cardboard, cut out the top waves as shown in, and attach on the back side of the face. 2. Cover the inside walls with the orange duct tape. See. 3. Cut out two pieces of the orange fabric that measure 7 by 8 and glue on the two sides of the monster to cover the cardboard. See. 4. Cover the front of the monster s face with the orange fabric, including its hair. See. Use the hot glue to attach the fabric to the monster. 5. Use white and blue cardstock paper to make two eyes, as shown in. Use the hot glue to attach the eyes to the monster. Page 4 of 7

5 Table display 4 1. Using cardboard, cut out two pieces for the ears, like the ones shown in, and attach on the back side of the face. 2. Cover the inside walls with the magenta duct tape. See. 3. Cut out two pieces of the magenta fabric that measure 7 by 8 and glue onto the two sides of the monster to cover the cardboard. See. 4. Cover the front of the monster s face with the fabric, including the ears. See. Use the hot glue to attach the fabric to the monster. 5. Use white and purple cardstock paper to make the giant eye as seen in. Use the hot glue to attach the eye to the monster. Page 5 of 7

6 Table display 5 1. Cover the inside walls with the yellow duct tape. See. 2. Cut out two pieces of the yellow fabric that measure 7 by 8 and glue on the two sides of the monster to cover the cardboard. See. 3. Cover the front of the monster s face with the yellow fabric. See. Use the hot glue to attach the fabric to the monster. 4. Use white and blue cardstock paper to make three eyes, as shown in. Use the hot glue to attach the eyes to the monster. 5. Use colored pom poms to create the ears. Hot glue the pieces together and then glue onto the top of the monster display, as shown in. Page 6 of 7

7 Table Legs 1. Cut the pool noodles down so that they measure the length of the table legs. 2. Cut a line straight through to the center of the pool noodle, as shown in. 3. Using Elmer s glue, attach the fabric to the pool noodle, see. 4. Make two feet out of cardboard similar in shape to the ones shown in. 5. Glue fabric onto the feet. See. 6. Lift the table and place the feet underneath the two front table legs. 7. Place the monster legs onto the table legs by opening the slit and hugging it around the table leg. Page 7 of 7
