She has works on display in Numazo, Japan, Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI, several galleries in the Midwest as well as her etsy, website and blog. Higgs spends her time between teaching, taking felt classes and creating...and loves all for very different reasons. Seeing her students succeed brings her great joy, seeing them excel, that is amazingly joyous for her. Suzanne continues to explore the ideas that she dreams. The dye garden at 577 for the fall dye day on October the 6th at Deb Yeagle s is looking fine except for the sunflowers. Only one has survived the critters and weather, so we may have to pick some goldenrod. The onions and Hopi Red Dye plants look great! In August we will meet to dig, wash, cut and dry the madder root also. Dahlias have been purchased to replace the sunflowers and get a head start collecting flower heads for The plants can be saved over the winter to divide and replant in the spring along with some tomatoes for the food bank. How about some yellow coreopsis to add to the garden for some nice yellows? One more dyestuff would be nice any ideas, plants or requests? 11/10/12 Learn to Spin 101 Workshop Several more members have volunteered to bring their wheels and favorites prep tools to help new spinners create their first yarns. If you would like to assist please save the date on your calendar. We will have a prep day after the October meeting to finalize the workshop plans. Please contact Ruth Steinacker or Susan Cayton with questions
