Welcome to the class listing for first term I know I am running late, chasing my tail as usual, I thought I had it all in hand, and yet again it all exploded on me. I hope everyone had a safe and happy Christmas break, and you are all rearing to get started on some new projects. We have a great range of classes for you this term, as the girls have all had a very productive break. I will do my best to have all the quilts up on the walls on display by the weekend. Requirements for class will only be given out on payment of registration. Class fees are non-refundable. You may transfer to another class up until 7 days prior to scheduled class. After that we are committed to run the class so there are no transfers or credits. A credit will be give for classes cancelled due to lack of numbers. Have your sewing machine in good working order. Your own Rotary cutter, Board and Rulers are required for classes. Please purchase all class requirements prior to day of class. Please do not bring children or guests to a class. This class covers the basics of cutting, stitching and re-squaring your blocks and will set you on the path to making many beautiful quilts in the future. Love Forever with Judith Lubieniecki (Beg) $60:00 1 x 5hrs. 9:30-3:00 Tuesday February 16 th Make this little quilt, to tell someone special in your life how you feel. Use charm squares or scraps, to make these pieces of your heart to give to a loved one. Placed on a simple background to give the hearts a pop. Beginners Appliqué Sampler with Robyn Macdonald (Beg) $ x 2½hrs. 12:30-3:00 Wednesday March 17 th, 24 th April 2 nd, 9 th,16 th & 23 rd Join Robyn for six lessons covering all the basics of needle turn appliqué. At the end of the six weeks you will have a beautiful appliquéd quilt top ready to be quilted, Robyn can also show you the basics of how to hand quilt your masterpiece. Retro Madness with Judith Lubieniecki (Beg) $ x 5hrs. 9:30-3:00 Saturday February 20 th Get your funk on using either retro prints or retro colours to make this great quilt. The more colours and patterns the funkier the quilt will look. Also a great project to dig into, and lighten your scrap stash.

A fast, and easy quilt. Ideal if you need a gift in a hurry. Join Judith to learn all the tricks. Your own Sewing machine with a ¼ foot, Rotary cutter, Board & Beginners Machine Sampler with Gayle Jones (Beg) $ x 2½hrs. 12:30-3:00 Tuesday March 23 rd April 1 st, 8 th, 15 th, 22 nd, 29 th. Join Gayle and over six weeks learn all the different techniques to make up the nine blocks in this lovely Sampler Quilt. You are sure to have some fun and a few laughs along the way. Sewing machine with ¼ foot, Rotary cutter, Board and Finish your Beginners Patchwork with Sue Drill (Beg) $ x 5hrs. 9:30-3:00 Saturday February 27 th A class that covers set-in triangles, corner triangles and borders. Bring along your Beginners Patchwork blocks and I will show you how to put them together into a quilt. Sewing machine with ¼ foot, Rotary cutter, Board and Quilt as you go Floor cushion with Susan Hartley (Beg) $ x 5 hrs. 9:30-3:00 Friday April 4 th. The children, grand children or even a lucky puppy will love this cushion. Using leftover scraps from jelly rolls, binding strips or any strips 2½ or wider. Quilt as you go to make a sturdy front & then back it and turn it into a pillow with a magic zipper insert. Quilters

6 PAGE 6 PAGE 6 Woven Ribbons - Lap or Cot Quilt with Sue Drill (Beg) $ x 5hrs. 9:30-3:00 Saturday February 27 th This pattern of woven strips with cut ends makes up fast and easy, using small scale prints or plain fabrics, with two quilt sizes to choose from, either a bright lap quilt or a cot sized quilt all ready for a new arrival. Bali Pools with Gayle Jones (Beg) $ x 5hrs. 9:30-3:00 Saturday March 5 th Using a Jelly Roll and Charm Square Pack or a Layer Cake join Gayle for another one of her beautiful geometric quilts. Gayle also bound this quilt with a scrappy binding using up all the leftover fabric. Anchors in Aqua, with Gayle Jones (Int) $ x 2½hrs. 9:30-12:00 Friday March 11 th & 18 th As a one eyed Dockers fan Gayle says she should have used purple but I think this quilt looks great in the fabrics she chose, and would look lovely in any colour combination, even purples for your one eyed fan. Beginners Applique Workshop with Robyn Macdonald (Beg) $ x 5hrs. 9:30-3:00 Saturday March 12 th Let Robyn show you how to make beautiful pictures with fabric. Using the art of, needle turn appliqué. This is a beginners class covering Pattern transfer, flowers, leaves & bias stems

7 Beginners Hand Quilting Workshop with Robyn Macdonald (Beg) $ x 2½hrs. 12:30-3:00 Saturday March 12 th Have you ever wanted to learn how to Hand Quilt? Pre-printed panel, wadding and backing kit $24.95 Strippy Provence Quilt, with Elinor Melewski (Beg-Int) $ x 2½hrs. 9:30-12:00 Monday March 14 th & 21 st A beautiful fabric that begs not to be cut up would look lovely as the main panels in this quilt, The triangles are sewn in an easy quick way that beginners can add to there skill set. We have a new range of Fabric just into the shop. Black Tie Affair by Moda that would make a very elegant quilt. Quilters Woven Logs with Sue Dill (Int) $ x 2½hrs. 9:30-12:00 Friday April 1 st & 8 th A bright quilt made entirely in plain homespun. Colour placement gives this log cabin quilt it s very distinctive woven pattern. Bon Voyage with Susan Hartley (Beg-Int) $ x 5hrs. 9:30-3:00 Saturday March 19 th If I could have a set of luggage as stunning as the trunks on this quilt, I think I would have to sell the shop, so I could spend all my time cruising around just to use them. Join Susan as she takes you on a short trip with this quilt being your final destination. Incorporate any special fabrics you have picked up in your own travels into the quilt. Piecing and appliqué techniques are used in the construction of your own travel trunk quilt. Pattern purchase required for this class Quilters

8 PAGE 8 PAGE 8 Mixed Metals with Sue Drill (Beg-Int) $ x 5hrs. 9:30-3:00 Saturday April 2 I used the new to the shop Bloc-Loc rulers, to make my half square triangles for this quilt, and they were great, I really enjoyed using them. A simple block in two sizes makes this lovely quilt. I used a mixture of gold, silver grey and taupe fabrics to make my quilt, but it would look great in bright s or subtle and soft in Floral s, it s all up to you. Machine Quilting Workshop with Davena Watts (Beg) $ x 5hrs. 9:30-3:00 Saturday April 9 th In this workshop Davena will take you through all the basics of Machine quilting. Techniques covered include straight lines, Curved stencils, stippling and free hand flowers. Kit containing Wadding and Fabric Squares $19.95 A Sewing machine with a ¼ foot, Rotary cutter, Board & T-Intersection with Sue Drill (Beg-Int) $ x 5hrs. 9:30-3:00 Saturday April 2 When I started this quilt I had no idea how many partial and in-set seams I had set my self up to sew what a nightmare. So I re-wrote the pattern to make it simpler and not one partial or in-set seam in sight. This pattern works really well with small or densely printed fabrics that hide the seam joins. I made mine out of one jelly Roll and a Background fabric and it made up to a single bed size quilt. Quilters Linked Chains with Davena Watts (Beg) $ x 5hrs. 9:30-3:00 Saturday April 16 th Linked Chains is a great opportunity to use some of your stash. Choose a colour theme and a background to enhance. The reversed prairie point border is optional but I felt it added another dimension to the quilt and is easy to do. Even my binding is scrappy. If you want to make the quilt larger you just make more blocks. Pre cutting is a must for this class. Quilters
