2 Bluffview Quilt Shop started our 1st Quilting Bee in October. It's like the Quilting Bees of "yesteryear" where quilter's/crafter's get together to work on projects, get advice and socialize. The next Bluffview Quilting Bee will be held on Thursday, December 21 st, from 1 pm to 4 pm. We will meet the 3 rd Thursday of each month. Come and join in the Fun with Fabric and Friends. So, bring your machines, your knitting, your binding, your crocheting or whatever your project is and join in on the camaraderie of friends and new friends. Who knows, you might even get a project or two completed. * Learn Techniques Together * Everyone is Welcome Ruler work using Westalee Rulers: For the past few months, we have been holding a get together featuring the Westalee Rulers. Now, we have decided to Kick It Up a Notch. It is time to hold a class where you can learn from a talented and encouraging Instructor to teach Westalee Ruler Work. Westalee Ruler Work Class Date: January 20 th from 9am to noon. Cost: $15 Deposit (non-refundable) o Register and Pay before Jan. 13 th to hold your spot in class. o The deposit can be used toward your purchases the day of class. Supplies needed: Westalee Ruler foot and Sampler Set #1 Also, bring your machine with an extension table, plenty of plain fabric and batting to practice on and contrasting thread, so you can go home with samples of your class work. We will continue to hold Free monthly LTT get togethers to keep up our skills learned in the class and to progress with using templates to quilt our projects. The Westalee get togethers will be held on the 2 nd Sunday of each month starting in February. Class Fee: $40 includes pattern 10% off Materials needed: Fabric per pattern *Please sign up by Nov 25 th.* Prima Diva Wallet Class This wallet has more pockets (2 have zippers) then the Diva Wallet but still uses the same purse frame. Class Date: December 3rd from 11 to 4 Class Cost: $55 includes pattern and wallet frame. A Material and Supply list will be available when you sign up for class. This will be a fun class and the Prima Diva Wallet would make a nice gift. *Please sign up by Nov 25th If you have any ideas for Classes, please let us know. 4 Long Time Gone is a stash buster class. You can bring in your stash of light, medium and dark fabrics. The fabrics can be prints, solids, tone on tone, batiks, etc. This is a 6-month BOM class and will be offered 2 times per month. Class fee is $75 which includes the book ($28). Month 1 Class dates and times: January 25 th from 1 4 or January 27 th from 9 noon. Class will meet at Bluffview Quilt Shop. 10% off any fabric/notions purchases used for class. *Please sign up by Jan 13 th.* January 2018 Classes Check sign up dates Long Time Gone by Jen Kingwell. Beginning Quilting Classes 1) This class is great for beginning quilters. We will be using the book Start Quilting with Class dates are: Alex Anderson. During the class, we will be learning about the tools used for quilting, piecing accurately, stitching on borders and finishing the quilt which includes quilting and labeling the quilt. Cost of class: $70, includes book. Materials are purchased separately with a 10% discount off fabric and tools needed for the class. 1 st class: Thursday, January 25th from 5 to 8 3 rd class: Thursday, February 22 nd from 5 to 8 2 nd class: Thursday, February 8th from 5 to 8 4 th class: Thursday, March 8 th from 5 to 8 Minimum # of Students: 2 Maximum # of Students: 6 Sign up by January 13 th. Supplies Needed: A list of supplies will be provided when payment is received for the class. 2) Trip Around The World or Irish Chain Quilt for beginning quilters. Date: February 10 th from 8am to noon. Cost: $40. Supplies needed: A list of supplies will be provided when payment is received for the class. Sign up by February 3 rd.

5 February 2018 Classes Hebe by Jen Kingwell A 6-month get together that meets once a month class Hebe uses the Lollies fabric line by Jen Kingwell from Moda. Cost: $50 plus the cost of the pattern Date: Feb 17 th from 9 to noon A material and supply list will be available when you sign up for class. March 2018 Classes Kings Cross by Doug Leko of Antler Designs A 6 month get together that meets once a month class Kings Cross is using Holly Taylors new fabric line called Summer Pond from Moda and will be using a new ruler by Doug Leko called Folded Corners Ruler. Mary received a personal demonstration explaining the uses of this ruler. Cost: $50 plus the cost of the pattern Date: March 17 from 12 3 A material and supply list will be available when you sign up for class. Harper Handbag from Sew Many Creations. The Black with Silver Speckles used to make the purse is Cork. Yes, that s right cork. We have several colors of Cork on order and have samples in the shop. The fabric used is a line called Foundation from Windham Fabrics which is on order. The Harper Handbag pattern with purse hardware is also on order. Cork is beautiful and versatile, you will be amazed.
