Hey, everyone! My name is Kelly, and I am currently studying apparel technologies at Minneapolis Community and Technical College, where I am learning the inner workings of garment construction, pattern making, and fit analysis. I started out sewing my own costumes for conventions and the Renaissance Festival using pre-existing patterns. This past February I participated in the Go Red for Women s Hearts for Fashion show at the Mall of America with my fellow classmates, and was able to see one of my creations walk down the runway. My design was inspired by my passion for romance novels and the Neo-Victorian subculture known as Steampunk. At the show, I won the honor of being the student designer featured at the Red Dress Collection where I was able to meet local designers who have already established themselves in the Twin Cities. I m so excited to have this opportunity to share my passion with others who are ready to get excited about sewing! I look forward to seeing you soon!
