A lot of work went into making that event so successful and I am deeply grateful to all who helped. Pat Wade organized the color challenge and it was such fun to see all of the clever ways people found to utilize the color they had been given. Thank you for challenging us, Pat! The goody bags were packed with lovely gifts; the button game was a lot of fun; and it was good to visit with members who can't attend our regular meetings. Many thanks to Myrna, Cely, Bobbi, Troyetta, Pat and all who contributed to the success of the event! April has been a busy month and May promises to be the same with Mother's Day celebrations, graduations, a purse challenge for our May program; and a couple of quilting classes (see newsletter for details). Our guild is blessed with so many talented individuals! Thank you all for stepping up to do programs, teach classes, host 1st Wednesdays, and participate in challenges and the 5:30 workshop. You all are the best! God bless each one of you, Gwen Sunshine Please contact Jo Schlecht for cards to be sent. You can reach her at or mj squilter@att.net. Announcements A word about programs from Gwen: Thanks to all who have volunteered to take care of programs this year. They have been wonderful! Learning about embroidery tinting in the April program by Marguerite Spears was particularly enjoyable. (Thank you, Marguerite!) Terri and Cathy are sponsoring the May program. Shirley is sponsoring the June program. August is available for sponsorship. Don't miss out on this opportunity to shine! Please be thinking about our Christmas party in December. It's not too early to volunteer... From the Hot Springs Quilt Guild Attention to all the Great Quilters of Quest,Hot Springs Village and Saline County...We really _

Cely Daytime Stitchers There will be no Daytime Stitchers meeting in May due to it falling on Memorial Day. See you in JUNE! Patchwork Piecing by Windy Wilt What a great month this has been, it has just flown by. I just had the greatest time at Quiltmania... the time just evaporated, I didn't want to leave, it was a never ending flow of creativity and a humbling experience for me to be in the company of such talented ladies. They are also very competitive when it comes to playing games or the challenges! LOL... Check Gwen's blog for pies of the color challenge along with the winners! Remember to keep up with what's going on at the various meeting, check out the blog Gwen so graciously keeps up to she always has lots of pics. On a serious note... we have an incredibly gifted group of ladies doing such creative and fun projects but are never too busy to stop and share how to do something. I find that awesome, it's what makes Quiltmania such a success and such fun to attend. I hope you will make an effort to attend next year, you won't regret it I can assure you of that!!! Myrna and her volunteer elves were so busy with gathering and filling our "goody" bags that it was almost like a birthday party w/presents or as Forest Gump would say "a box of chocolates because you never know what you are gonna get". A huge round of applause to ALL the members that worked in front and behind the scenes. You know who you are and you are so appreciated and loved. Our guild meeting had Sondra Curtis showing new blocks for our quilt project and Marguerite Spears gave a wonderful presentation of colored embroidery. Did you know Crayola now make boxes of 120 crayons!! What a color palette! I had forgotten how relaxing and creative coloring could be. It was my fav thing to do as a child, that is if you don't count "creative mischief"! Daytime Stitchers was a full house with Jane Hammonds giving a demo on braided ribbon lanyards. She was very patient as she had to explain step by step. Fantastic job Jane!! Show & Tell was once again a diversity of projects, laughter, and fellowship! There will be no DTS in Mayas that falls on Memorial Day and the library will be closed. :"( Here is a yummy and EZ recipe for you: 3
