October 21-22, :00am-5:00pm Our second year at the Hood River Armory th St., Hood River, OR Quilt Show Newsletter Inside you will find all information related to our quilt show in October including quilt submission guidelines and forms. We encourage you to note the quilt submission deadlines so you are not disappointed at the last minute.

2 QUILT SHOW INFORMATION Directions to Hood River Armory, th St. From the west: Take Exit #62 off I84, go east 1.1 miles on Cascade Ave. (Hwy.30.) Turn right onto 13th St at the light. From the east: Take Exit #63 off I84, turn left over the freeway. Go 1/4 mile south and turn right onto Oak St. Go.6 mile. Turn left onto 13th St. at the light. BOTH: On 13th St. go.6 mile up the hill staying in right lane. Turn right onto Belmont Ave. You are turning before you get to the curve. Immediately turn left just past the 1301 restaurant. Stay left to go into the Armory parking lot. Quilt Show entry is $6 per day $5 per day for CRGQG Members Entry is free with a new paid membership There is a $1-off admission coupon on our website for your friends and family. We have Vendors too! Quilt Market The Quilt Market will be open during Quilt Show hours again this year. We ll be offering your gently used quilt or crafting related items for sale to benefit our guild. We d love to have books, magazines, fabrics, tools, gadget, rulers, threads, patterns, etc. After you donate, be sure to come and shop while you re at the quilt show. Someone else s trash can be your treasure! We are now accepting donations. You can drop them off or call for pick-up. Please call to arrange drop-off or pick-up. Hood River Barbara Frasier, The Dalles Gayle Jacobson, Boutique The Boutique section will feature NEW ITEMS YOU HAVE MADE on consignment. They must be marked with a removable tag showing your name and the price you want for them. If sold, we remove the tag and add them up at the end of the show. No tag no payment. The guild keeps 10% of the sale amount. Often our members make donations in memoriam of a loved one. We are very grateful for their generosity. The Viewers Choice Award is voted on by show attendees on Thursday and Friday. This award will be posted Saturday. Our judge is NQA certified. Quilts, Entry Forms and Fees are due Oct. 7, 2015 Space cannot be guaranteed after that date. All quilts must be 3 layers. Judged quilts must be completed in the past 2 years If quilt is not an original design, credit must be given to the pattern designer, JUDGED AWARD CATEGORIES Miniature Proportionally Scaled down version of a larger quilt, no more than 100 in circumference Art Quilt Innovative Large Pieced Wall Pieced Large Applique Wall Applique Large Mixed Technique Wall Mixed Technique Any size Original in design and or technique, should extend beyond traditional disciplines, may not be made from a pattern or other copyrighted material. Primarily textile medium Any size - Quilt will show originality in color, design and/ or construction technique. May be based on a classic or traditional quilt block design. 4 Enter Your Quilt GUIDELINES Shipped quilts must be insured and must include a prepaid return mailing label for the quilt. Quilts must be shipped US Postal Service or UPS only, please do NOT use Fed Ex. All quilts 25 or wider must have a 4 sleeve. Quilts longer than 96 will hang pinned and folded. Judged quilts must have been completed within two years prior to date of this quilt show. Quilts must be complete (no quilt tops.) All quilts must be clean and odor/smoke/pet hair free. Hood River, OR Received By Oct. 7th Send one completed entry form for each quilt. The entry form may be photocopied. Remember to sign your form! A photograph of your quilt must be included with your entry form, with your name on the back. Photos will be used for identification purposes only and may not be returned. Attach the top half of the Quilt Label form to the back of your quilt. Keep the Claim check section for your records. Your signed claim check MUST be presented to pick-up your quilt. Every effort will be made to safeguard quilt entries. However, quilts should be insured through the entrant s insurance company. CRGQG reserves the right to reassign an entry to the most appropriate category. Quilts will be hung at the discretion of CRGQG. You may offer your quilt for sale at the show. Please indicate your desire on your entry form and quilt label. Interested buyers can contact the show entrance table to purchase your quilt. 10% of the sale price will go to CRGQG. Sold quilts must hang until close of show. PICK UP YOUR QUILT OR HAVE IT MAILED Quilt Entry Fees Entry Only 4 Member Nonmember First Quilt Each Add l. Quilt Add 2016 Membership 25.00* Example 1: A guild member entering both judged and non-judged quilts would pay $20 for the first quilt and either $5 or $10 for each additional quilt entered, depending on whether they are to be judged or not. Example 2: A guild member entering only non-judged quilts would pay $10 for the first quilt and $5 for each additional quilt. *Note: If you are joining our guild for the first time you will receive the November meeting at no additional cost. As a member you may use the member column to calculate your quilt entry fees. Quilts may be picked up from the show at 5:30pm on Saturday, Oct. 22th, or by appointment with Anne Marie Martin, ALL quilts must be picked up by Tues. Oct. 25th. Quilts not picked up by Oct. 25th will be available sometime in late spring when Anne Marie returns home from Yuma. A claim-check must be presented with the entrant s signature. Mailed quilts that are not pre-arranged to be picked up at the show, will be returned one week after the show. A prepaid UPS or US Postal Service shipping label must be included when you mail your quilt.
