See show times and descriptions on pp STEP 2 Choose your Gallery Add-Ons. See pp. 4. STEP 3 Fill out the reservation form. STEP 4 Fax or mail the form back to the Louisiana Art and Science Museum to reserve your trip. We will send you a confirmation packet. STEP 5 Sign your confirmation from the Louisiana Art and Science Museum and return it. STEP 6 us reservations@lasm.org to confirm your anticipated attendance at least one week prior to your visit. Your students will learn about eclipses, the ice age, Earth s water cycle, and the differences between our Earth and Moon. Recommended ages: 5-11 A mysterious M sends the intrepid Jack and Annie on a fun-filled journey to discover the secrets of the sun, moon, planets, space travel and more. 3 Cousteau, son of ocean pioneer Jacques Cousteau, offers a breakthrough look at a secret world within the ocean that is perhaps the biggest story of all- that the smallest life in the sea is the mightiest force on which we all depend. Secrets of Gravity: In the Footsteps of Albert Einstein Join two friends, 12-year-old Luke and a quirky robot named Alby who knows all about Albert Einstein and his theories, on a magical journey through space and time. They not only uncover the secrets of gravity, but also learn about friendship and imagination. Travel through Earth s greatest man-made wonders and discover the human ingenuity behind engineering marvels big and small. National Parks Adventure Join us for the ultimate off-trail adventure into America s awe-inspiring great outdoors. Explore the wilds of America in this full-dome movie narrated by Robert Redford. You and your campers will journey through some of America s most majestic wild places and discover a tapestry of natural wonders that will inspire the adventurer in all of us. See the earliest creatures of the Triassic Period to the monsters of the Cretaceous in a life-sized giant screen presentation. Join renowned paleontologists as they discover new fossils and uncover evidence that dinosaur descendants are still among us. AUDITORIUM INTERACTIVE PROGRAMS $4.00per person Allow 45 minutes. These programs are interactive, instructor-led, multimedia presentations on topics that blend science and art. Include a Gallery Add-On with your visit! (See pp. 4 for details.) Miss Trudy s Traveling Trunk Show (Tuesdays 9:00, 10:00, & 11:00) Kids will be eager to join Miss Trudy for stories, songs, and games sprinkled with humor and fun! They ll meet her special puppet friends, Sheldon the Sheepdog and Frederick the Mouse, and learn about the seasons of the year and all the surprises found in Miss Trudy s trunk. 4 The Magic of Science (Wednesdays-Fridays 10:00, 11:00, & 12:00) Is science magical or is magic scientific? Chemistry, physics, optical illusions, and mathematics are all demonstrated in this fascinating presentation based on scientific principles. Campers will have fun exploring the actual science behind the magic. AUDITORIUM FILMS $4.00 per person Allow 1 hour. Films are suitable for all ages. Include a Gallery Add-On with your visit! (See pp. 4 for details.) Whales This stunningly beautiful film will take your group to some of the wildest deep-sea locations on earth to witness the sights, sounds, and survival of the world's largest mammal. Forces of Nature Follow scientists on ground-breaking quests to understand what triggers earthquakes, volcanoes, and tornadoes. GALLERY Explorations $4.00 each per person Allow 1 hour for each theme. Extend the gallery experience with a longer version of the typical tour. Museum educators will facilitate engaging hands-on activities for your campers with the following themes: Solar System Exploration Get hands-on with astronomical and geological processes, learn about fossilization, and perform experiments. Art Gallery Exploration Create art in various media and styles based on concepts discussed in the gallery. Ancient Egypt Exploration Play Ancient Egyptian games, decipher hieroglyphics, and make perfumed amulets. 4

5 GALLERY ADD-ONS $.75 each for individual galleries Each Add-On is 30 minutes long. ART GALLERY FEAST FOR THE EYES: THE STORY OF FOOD IN PHOTOGRAPHY Feast for the Eyes explores the rich history of how food has been photographed from the late nineteenth century to the present day. In addition to works by many well-known artists, the display includes classic cookbooks, showing how photography changed the role of the recipe book. From basic sustenance to decadent feasts, food awakens the senses and touches both private and public life. June 12- September 16, 2018 ANCIENT EGYPT GALLERY The museum houses one of the few Egyptian tomb exhibits in the southern United States. Kids tour a re-creation of a Ptolemaic-era tomb, ca. 300 BC, that houses an authentic 2,300-year-old mummy. On view in the outer gallery is a collection of ancient artifacts, together with maps, interpretive materials related to ancient burial customs, and recent information about the Art & Science Museum s mummy. Recommended ages: 7 and above DISCOVERY DEPOT This gallery stimulates a child s imagination and encourages exploration and creative play. After a trip through the Children s Playhouse, young chefs can enjoy nutrition oriented role play in the kitchen center while little engineers operate the wooden train. Puzzles, books, and games provide plenty of additional opportunities for learning and fun! Recommended ages: 7 and under SCIENCE STATION Interaction with STEAM-focused exhibits makes learning meaningful, relevant, and fun! Hands-on, minds-on activities in this unique gallery space encourage students to playfully engage in innovative, open-ended learning experiences. Recommended ages: 7 and above SOLAR SYSTEM GALLERY Meet the newest addition to the Solar System Gallery- an authentic 65-million-yearold Triceratops Skull named Jason. You will also have a chance to touch a meteorite, learn about the Milky Way, and marvel at our 40 foot orrery. 5
