22 EKS 42 / EKS 5 Electronic Key Switch Characteristics Description The electronic key switch EKS detects electronic keys (transponders) from a few centimetres distance. This device can replace conventional key switches or key switches with impulse function. nstead of conventional keys, transponders are used for (non-contact) activation of the EKS. 23 EKS 42 / EKS 5 Transponder SO-Card Transponders with key function are available in four variants: SO-Card KeyCard key ring pendant KeyTag key ring pendant BlueTag key ring pendant StrongTag All four variants have identical functions. KeyTag Every transponder (electronic key) is a unique specimen with a non-recurring and unchangeable identifier. Particular transponders can be deleted from the memory of the EKS. Additional transponders can be stored into the EKS on site. The EKS can memorize up to 156 different transponder identifiers. BlueTag Option: On request, key transponders are also available with identical identifiers. This identifier will be memorized in the EKS only once. Any quantity of transponders with identical identifier can operate the EKS. Thus, particular transponders cannot be deleted from the memory of the EKS (e. g. if they got lost). Additional transponders can operate the EKS without any storage work. Remark: Key transponders with identical identifier are only available as BlueTag. StrongTag As a rule, the EKS is being delivered ready for installation, i. e. the enclosed transponders are stored in the memory of the EKS and the desired configuration is set. By means of the optionally available special function cards - ProgrammingCard - ResetCard - DeleteCard the configuration of the EKS can be modified. Customized designs available on request. 28 EKS 42 VP Electronic Key Switch 42, vandal-resistant Characteristics When mounted behind a stainless steel faceplate there is no need for a cutout for the EKS 42 in the faceplate. The reader unit will be fixed at the rear of the faceplate by means of welding studs and the reading area will be marked on the front of the faceplate in any way. This variant is advantageous for example in connection with large push buttons or non-schaefer products to be independent from the design. With no access from the front the device is furthermore safe from manipulation, thus save from vandalism, water and dust. 53 KS 42 / KS 45 Key Switch 42, Key Switch 45 KS 42/KS 45 have specially been developed for modernisation purposes. The KS MOD1 with 2 switching elements (alternating contacts) has 3 removal positions (max.) and an installation depth of 23 mm. Thus it is suitable for the installation in all SCHAEFER fixtures with 26 mm depth such as surface mounted fixtures e. g. SMPLE style, prism- or radius shaped fixtures. The KS MOD2 with 4 switching elements (alternating contacts) and max. 4 removal positions has an installation depth of 3 mm and can therefore be installed in surface mounted fixtures SMPLE 33 mm. Numerous combinations of switching and removal positions are possible which can be acknowledged with 2 s. The small installation depth is realized by a round cylinder of the brand Ronis, which is currently available with 6 different key codes. Further key codes can be provided on request. The KS MOD1 and the KS MOD2 are mounted without welding studs in a pitch of 42. Therefore, the visible cover (Style) will be retained in the cutout and the switching element will be screwed from the back. The possibility to label inserted plates in various stainless steel models, complete the variability in the modernization. Screw terminals for wires with bigger diameter are available as well as a 23 V AC variant (without ). Due to its style shapes square, round and elliptic, the key switch KS 42 is always available to fit our button styles. Since the cutouts are identical, our push buttons MT/RT/VB/EB/EBM 42 can be replaced by KS 42 at any time.
