2 Attention! Before using please read the instructions and assembly and dismounting rules carefully. Store the boom in casing. Avoid using the boom in wet medium, as well storing it in such conditions. The boom comprises of parts and materials susceptible to deformations. It is not permissible to sit or stand or put heavy items on the casing containing the boom. While assembling or dismantling the boom do not throw its parts on the floor, but replace them carefully. The boom should not be used for cameras weighing more than the tolerable weight indicated. Please use a tripod for the boom, which is built to handle loads of no less than 10kg. If you want to transport the boom in assembled shape, it is necessary to remove the camera and the counter-balance from the boom. Also if you displace the boom in assembled shape, make sure that it is positioned in such a way as to show the My Crank logo on the side, i.e. in the position as it is fitted to the tripod. Otherwise the boom can be deformed.

4 What is the boom assembly sequence? You can assemble the boom on the ground and then mount the assembled boom on the tripod. But in this case you will need extra help, because it is more difficult to mount the assembled boom on the tripod, rather than assembling it step-by-step. The boom can be assembled by one person, without any extra help. For the purpose first mount profile 1 on your tripod. The insert profile 2 in profile 1 and profile 3 in profile 2. Tighten the fixture screws 5. Now put cable 17 on spools 9 and 10. Tighten the cable using Clamp 18 (Tighten until the cable seizes to hang loose). Tighten pin 14 to screw 15 at the end of profile 1. Then hang counter-weight 16 on the pin. The boom is ready for use. This process takes no more than 5 minutes. And now the details How can I differentiate between profiles 1, 2 and 3? It is not difficult to differentiate between profiles 1, 2 and 3: Profile 1 has spool 9 and weight 13 attached to it. Loosening up fixture 5, you can see that weight 13 can move freely along the length of profile 1. More so pin 14 is also fixed to profile 1 (see the other end of the profile) Profile 2 carries the My Crank logo and is fitted into profile 1.

5 Profile 3 is inserted into profile 2. The tripod plate is on the other end of profile 3. Profile 3 is mounted last, after profile 2 is connected to profile 1. How can one person mount the boom on the tripod? As earlier noted it is necessary to first mount profile 1 on the tripod. 1. For the purpose remove the plate from the tripod. Fix it to the platform 8 using two screws 6 and two nuts 7 (as shown in the image). Make sure that your tripod plate is mounted in the middle of the platform 8. Strongly tighten nuts Raise the tripod to the required height, but no less than 1.3 meters. The higher you raise the tripod the greater will be the amplitude of rotation of the boom rod. 3. Now mount profile 1 on the tripod. To balance the load, platform 8 should be placed in the middle of the tripod head. Now you should tighten tripod head screw. 4. Now take profile 2 and insert it on junction plate 4, which is located on profile 1.

6 Loosen-up fixture 5 and align the junction plate 4 ends, so that profile 2 would be easily inserted on it. Insert profile 2 over junction plate 4 to the end. Now tighten fixture 5 (do not tighten too strongly). 5. Now take profile 3 and join it to the junction plate of profile 2. Repeat the above mentioned actions, as shown in clause Take cable 17 and put it through the grooves in spools 9 and 10. Make sure that platform 8 and tripod platform 11 should be parallel to each other. Tighten cable using clamp 18. It is not necessary to tighten it hardly. It is just enough to make sure that it does not hang loose. If you would extra tighten the cable, it will start bending the boom This should not be done!

7 7. Screw pin 14 to bolt 15. Nicely tighten it. 8. Install the camera on tripod plate 11, which is mounted at the end of profile 3. Making sure that the camera would not hit the ground, lower the boom rod. 9. The boom package includes the casing for counter-weight 16. It comprises of two compartments, which can be filled with ordinary sand, balancing your camera on the other end of the boom. Hang counter-balance 16 on already fixed pin 14 (see image).

8 To achieve finer balancing use weight 13. Loosening fixture 12, move weight along the length of profile 1 until you achieve balance between the camera and the counter-balance When you achieve balance, check the levels on the tripod. The tripod head should be in perfect horizontal position. Now the boom is ready for use. 11. The boom is always dismantled in the opposite sequence, but you must always remove the camera before starting dismantling of the boom. Rules and suggestions for shooting: You can shoot horizontal panorama using the tripod s head mechanism. Only make sure that horizontal rotation of the head is free and not fixed. You can also change vertical panorama using your tripod s head mechanism. This is done by transferring tripod head direction over the cable to the camera. Make sure that vertical movement of the tripod head is free and not fixed. Before starting panoramic shooting using the boom, you must be sure that the boom is stable and there is no vibration (fluctuation) at all. To avoid tremble you must stabilize the vibrations. For the purpose, carefully lower the boom rod with the camera to the ground. Wait for 3-5 seconds. Now slowly, without abrupt jerks, holding profile 1 or counter-balance 16 in your hands point the boom rod in the required direction. Depending on your creative objectives, you can fix the horizontal movement of your tripod s head, in which case the boom rod will only move along the vertical axis. Store the boom in the casing. Place profile 2 in the middle section, whereas profiles 1 and 3 are to be placed on the sides. Package composition: Profiles 1, 2, 3
