For technical questions please call INTENDED USE: The Uni-Jaws is the ultimate portable work vise for the workshop. With a powerful clamping force of up to 2200 lbs and large vise jaws, the Uni-Jaws will hold just about anything, including timber and metal. The Uni-Jaws features twin rails for greater durability and easy sliding of the rear jaws,with 12 indents, the quick-release rear jaws can be quickly adjusted to suit both small and large workpieces. As opposed to a traditional vise positioned on a workbench, the Uni-Jaws gives you 360 access to your workpiece for ultimate flexibility and ease of use. The steel construction increases durability and extends the life of the jaws while the folding legs provide stability on most surfaces and can be easily folded up to allow easy storage and transportation. 3 CAUTION: Do not allow persons to operate or assemble this UNI-JAWS until they have read this manual and have developed a thorough understanding of how the unit works. WARNING: The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions or situations that could occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT AND/OR SERIOUS INJURY TO YOU! Make sure all moving parts are free from interference. Keep hands clear of all moving parts. Ensure Uni-Jaws is in a dry place protected from rain. Keep work area well lit. Never stand or sit on the Uni-Jaws. Be aware of over balancing. When a large piece is cut from one end of a job, the remaining piece may be heavy enough to over balance the Uni-Jaws. Always ensure the work area is well supported. When transporting Uni-Jaws in a vehicle always tie down to prevent movement and possible damage. Check to make sure that all fixing screws and knobs are tight and all legs are locked into position before operating the Uni-Jaws. The tool must be used only for its prescribed purpose. Any use other than those mentioned in these instructions will be considered a case of misuse. The manufacturer shall not be liable for any damage or injury resulting from such cases of misuse. The manufacturer shall not be liable for any changes made to the tool nor for any damage resulting from such changes. UNI-JAWS USE AND CARE Do not modify the Uni-Jaws in any way. Unauthorized modification may impair the function and/or safety and could affect the life of the equipment. There are specific applications for which the Uni-Jaws was designed. Always check of damaged or worn out parts before using the Uni-Jaws. Broken parts will affect the Uni-Jaws operation. Replace or repair damaged or worn parts immediately. Store idle Uni-Jaws. When Uni-Jaws is not in use, store it in a secure place out of the reach of children. Inspect it for good working condition prior to storage and before reuse. Page 3 of 6

4 ASSEMBLY 1. The Uni-Jaws comes fully assembled. To operate the Uni-Jaws follow the simple set-up instructions. 2. Remove Uni-Jaws from the carton and carefully place it upside down on a flat surface. (Fig.1) 3. Start by unfolding the front legs. Press front legs locking pin. (Fig.2) 4. Unfold the front leg by the fully upright position (Fig.3) and ensure that the locking pin clicks into the opposite pin hole (A). (Fig.4) 5. Fully raise the opposite front leg, ensure the locking pin clicks into the opposite pin hole. (Fig.5) 6. Repeat steps for rear legs until all 4 legs are in the upright position and secured. 7. Prior to turning over the Uni-Jaws, ensure that all 4 locking pins have clicked into the correct holes. 8. Carefully turn over the Uni-Jaws and place it into the upright position (Fig.6) OPERATION: Adjusting the Front Vise Jaw 1. Rotating the front vise jaw clamping handle will move the front vise jaws backwards and forwards. (Fig.7) 2. Rotating in a clockwise direction moves the front vise jaw forward towards the rear jaw; rotating in an counterclockwise direction moves the front vise jaws backwards towards the front of the Uni-Jaws. Adjusting the Rear Vise Jaw 1. The rear vise jaw is adjustable to 12 detent positions at 3in. intervals. 2. To adjust the rear vise jaw pull back on the 2 rear vise jaw locking pins (Fig.8) and move the rear vise jaw backward and forward along vise rails to the desired position. 3. Releasing the rear vise jaw locking pin allows the rear vise jaw to stop at the next available vise rail detent. 4. By pulling back on the 2 rear vise jaw locking pins and rotating 45, the rear vise jaw can be freely moved backwards and forwards along the vise rails without locking into position. 5. When the rear jaw needs to be locked into position, simply rotate the rear vise jaw locking pins 45 (Fig.9) one more time, they will now click into the next available detent when moved backwards or forwards on the vise rails. 5 Clamping material 1. Ensure the front vise jaw is located towards the front of the Uni-Jaws. 2. Place the workpiece onto the vise rails in between the front vise and rear vise jaws. (Fig.11) 3. Rotate the clamping handle in a clockwise direction to move the front vise jaw towards the rear vise jaw and clamp the workpiece. (Fig.12) 4. Rotate the clamping handle until the vise jaws are securely clamping the workpiece. Fitting and operating the machine mounts a. Your Uni-Jaws center comes complete with 2 quick-fit machine mounts that fit to various miter saws and other bench top tools. b. Simply pull the handles in an upward direction and snap into place. c. Attach the miter saw/bench top tool with the 4 bolts and nuts provided. d. The rear mounting plates are supplied for miter saw with offset rear mounting holes. Attach the plates to the rear of the machine mounts and then attach to the rear holes on the miter saw. Fitting and operating the material supports e. Your Uni-Jaws tool center comes complete with material supports designed to assist in cutting longer lengths of timber. f. Simply insert the material supports into the 2 end holes. g. To lock the material supports at a predetermined length or height, rotate the vertical or horizontal locking knobs in a clockwise direction. MAINTENANCE Maintain your Uni-Jaws. It is recommended that the general condition of any Uni-Jaws be examined before it is used. Keep your Uni-Jaws in good repair by adopting a program of conscientious repair and maintenance. Have necessary repairs made by qualified service personnel. Wipe away dirt and dust from the stand on a regular basis. Page 5 of 6
