I have ten years of art teaching experience - teaching art to year olds in a UK secondary school. My carefully devised set of 4 different classes are designed to introduce participants to a variety of fun and exciting artistic ideas. So whether you wish to develop your 3D skills or learn how to use acrylic paint - I have a class that will cater for your creative desires! 3 About True Colour Art Gallery Founded by the daughter of the artist predecessor of the Yu Zhi Gallery. A highly successful art gallery in China that exhibited many artists and attracted collectors from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. With decades of artistic inheritance True Colour Gallery is dedicated to establishing art exchange and integration between China. About Petra Giffard I am an artist and fully qualified former UK Art Teacher with ten years of art teaching experience. I have taught a variety of materials and techniques to a variety of students. I recently exhibited my paintings at Art! Vancouver. I also taught an acrylic painting class as part of the art fair's program of special events.

4 ACRYLIC PAINTING FOR BEGINNERS: LEARN TO PAINT A STILL LIFE FISH This 2hr 30 minute acrylic painting class is aimed at beginners. You will be introduced to various techniques and processes and I will provide an easy to follow step by step guide to creating your very own acrylic painting of a still life fish. Basic materials will be supplied - but if you want to bring your own paints/brushes you are welcome. Please me for more information. 5 MIXED MEDIA FLAMINGO AND TOUCAN ILLUSTRATIONS Using acrylic paint and pens and other materials you will build up and create 2 small vintage-style illustrations: 1 of a flamingo and 1 of a toucan. I will guide you through the process step by step and provide stencils and demonstrations to assist your creations. You will end up with 2 small and beautiful illustrations that will look great in 2 small frames.. 6 JUNGLE PRINT STENCILLING In this 3 hour class I will guide you through creating your very own junglethemed patterned panel that will look great in a frame. We will start by creating an exciting and colourful background based on an exciting array of jungle-inspired colours. You will then create your very own stencil based on a leaf motif and then use this to create a jungle-inspired pattern on your pre-prepared background. This class will involve using a craft knife and cutting mat - at your own risk. 7 3D PUPPET HEAD CONSTRUCTION (2 SESSIONS) Over the course of two consecutive evenings you will create your very own Puppet Head based on marionettes from the Czech Republic. You will learn how to use newspaper and recycled materials to build up a 3D head shape and then mould and sculpt the facial features. In the second session you can also start to add colour and detail to your puppet head using acrylic paint. Basic materials will be supplied - but all participants need to bring some newspaper to make your puppet head from (2-3 standard newspapers per person should be plenty) DATES/TIMES: Wednesday June 20th AND Thursday June 21st: 6:30pm - 9pm (class duration: x2 sessions of 2hrs 30 mins - so 5hrs total) COST: $60 per person - basic materials supplied but please bring newspaper Or 2 people for $90 (buy 1 place, get 1 half price) To Book Please Petra Giffard - psgiffard@gmail.com
