The eye is probably the most catching thing about the human face. It is where we are looking when we are talking to people. It is where tears emerge from.

If you have painted beautiful face but the eyes look dead, you have not painted a human you have painted a mannequin. Sclera (whites of the eyes) Not pure white. Save brightest white for highlight.

And one trick for painting the eyes. If you are right-handed, start to paint the left eye on the bust from your point of view.

I start to paint the eyes when the face is almost ready.

Napel yellow to the base and paint the lower part of the iris. More naple yellow and paint the second reflection which is reflection of the light from the ground. Black colour for pupil.
