1 Live, Work and Grow In Brazosport! 300 Abner Jackson Pkwy, Brazosport, TX Fax Website: June 2013 CHAIRMAN S MESSAGE I want to congratulate our 2013 graduates of the Leadership Brazosport Program! The purpose of this program is to identify and motivate emerging leaders, and to develop their potential for community leadership by exposing them to the realities, opportunities and problems of our community. This five month program consisted of two sessions a month covering topics such as economic development, education, health and government. Many thanks to Co-Chairpersons Tana Maddox, Farmers Insurance and Neldia Ahlquist, Neldal Insurance, for the time and effort they contributed to making this program such a success. I also want to thank Tony Wood, Chairman of the Taste of the Town, and his leadership committee, for hosting another great event with record attendance and some great food and fun! The auction was the best ever and The Young Guns did a fabulous job serving at the Kings Feast. I want to thank all of the many volunteers as well as you, the members, for supporting this event by purchasing raffle tickets, donating or purchasing auction items, purchasing tickets and sponsoring the event. This is a team effort and it takes everyone working together to make it a success. May was an extremely busy month for the Chamber with the sponsorship of the National Day of Prayer, Ladies Luncheon, Leadership Brazosport Awards Luncheon, MSR Business After Hours, Young Guns meeting, Transportation meeting, Safetytown meeting, Brazosport Health Foundation ribbon cutting and Business After Hours, Chairman s Circle meeting, The Wayside Pub ribbon cutting, Executive meeting, Board of Directors meeting and the Taste Wrap-Up meeting. June is turning out to be just as busy. Please let the Chamber office know if you would like to get involved by becoming a member of one of the numerous committees making a difference in our community. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend our next membership luncheon on Wednesday, June 19th at the Lake Jackson Civic Center at 12:00 noon. Al Guevara, President & CEO of the Brazosport Regional Health System will be our guest speaker. I look forward to seeing you then. Sincerely, Nancy Wollam Chairman of the Board Live, Work & Grow in Brazosport! ~1~
