2 Page 2 Chamber Newsflash Administrative Professionals Day Charlotte Griffin, David Whitley, Georgette Chilton L. Diane Wolfe T he eighth annual Administrative Professionals Day sponsored by Martin Community College, Martin County Chamber of Commerce, and Bertie Chamber of Commerce was held at Bear Grass School Cafeteria on Tuesday, April 26th. Professional women from the Martin and Bertie Counties areas enjoyed lunch provided by The Filling Station Restaurant of Robersonville. Elvis (aka A.J. Outlaw of Kinston) showed up to serenade and entertain the ladies during lunch. E veryone enjoyed motivational speaker and author, L. Diane Wolfe. She spoke to the group about Overcoming Obstacles With Spunk. She stated that there are two things that will affect who you will be five years from now: the books you read and who you associate with. Wolfe expressed the importance of a positive self-image to be able to carry out administrative duties.

Administrative Assistant at Martin Community Action, Angela Wynn won the grand prize which included $150 gift certificate at a spa from Avoca in Bertie County, a $75 gift certificate to Olive Garden and a weekend for two at the Tar Heel Motel in Nags Head given by Mary Anne Crowe, realtor (United Country Roanoke Realty Team) and business owner (Furnishing Finds & Treasures) of Williamston, NC.

All of our 2011 sponsors have already committed for 2012 and we are planning for a larger and even more fun filled event next year. Visit our website for pictures and more information.
