2 PlayBingo Ladies Luncheon If your company has been searching for the perfect cause-related marketing opportunity in Austin, look no further! The Friends of Christopher Guild proudly presents the 15th annual PlayBingo Ladies Luncheon, a unique Austin event bringing ladies together for a common cause - child abuse - and a common love - bingo. Through the years, PlayBingo has grown to include more than 1,100 ladies, who rally their friends and bring their pocketbooks for a mid-afternoon rendezvous of tasty drinks, fabulous auction items, and of course BINGO, all to benefit Travis County child abuse victims. Friends of Christopher Guild The Friends of Christopher Guild was born out of our community s despair, frustration and outrage over the death of 2-year-old Christopher Wohlers in Formed by concerned women and mothers, the Friends of Christopher Guild is committed to sustaining and expanding the safety net for abused children in Travis County through support of the Center for Child Protection. Guild members volunteer tirelessly on behalf of Austin s children. Center for Child Protection The Center for Child Protection, a nationally accredited children s advocacy center, is the first stop for children in Travis County who are suspected victims of sexual abuse, serious physical abuse and for children who have witnessed a violent crime. The Center is a child-friendly, speciallyequipped facility where children go for recorded forensic interviews, medical exams, counseling and intervention during the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases. It is the only nonprofit in Travis County involved in the investigation of crimes against children. All services are provided to children and their protective caregivers at no charge and are available in English and Spanish. In 2017, the Center provided more than 11,900 services to children and adults.
