2 Who We Are! The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is a nonprofit organization that help kids, schools and communities realize their full potential through the power of making music. Since 1997, we have donated over $53 million worth of new musical instruments to 2,030 public schools in 251 school districts around the country-- impacting the lives of more than 3 million public school students.

3 Save The Music Goes Platinum! In celebration of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation s 20 th Anniversary, we are excited to partner with our friends at MTV to create a weekend of amazing activities in Los Angeles leading up to the VMAs in August. The celebration schedule includes: Thursday, August 24 th : School Event with an Artist & Press! Friday, August 25 th : 20 th Anniversary Gala! Saturday, August 26 th : Cocktails & Guitars Party! Sunday, August 27 th : MTV VMAs!

4 The School Event! On Thursday, August 24 th, we will host a major celebration event at the Walnut Park Middle School in Los Angeles, with talent and press invited. Walnut Park will receive our core grant, a full instrumental package of band or string instruments worth $38,000, along with program management, support and monitoring for a ten year period.

5 The Gala! We will host a blow-out gala on Friday, August 25 th to honor a major recording artist who has made significant contributions to the world of music and education. During the evening, we ll create a set of integrated experiences that will connect attendees to the mission, set to performances celebrating our evening s Honoree and special guests. This year s Honoree will join an esteemed group that includes Former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, mega-platinum Grammy award-winning superstar, Mariah Carey, John Mayer, John Legend and the legendary Julie Andrews.

6 Cocktails & Guitars Event! In celebration of our 20th Anniversary, VH1 Save The Music has partnered with Gibson Guitars to bring together 20 visual artists that each had the opportunity to customize a Gibson Les Paul Standard, pre-electronics, for this special occasion. Each visual artist was then partnered with a musical artist for inspiration on creative concept (a few of the guitars are pictured to the right). Gibson finished the guitars at their factory, making each one a truly unique piece for an upcoming auction later this Fall to benefit VH1 Save The Music. On Saturday, August 26th, we ll host a private first look reception of the VH1 STM 20th Anniversary Gibson Guitars in their entirety.

7 The VMA s! The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards will return to the Fabulous Forum in Inglewood, California and will air live on August 27 at 8 p.m. Throughout history, some of music and culture s biggest breakthroughs have come to life during West Coast VMA broadcasts. This year will be no different. The telecast was previously held at the Fabulous Forum in 2014 and featured iconic performances including Beyoncé s feminist anthem, Usher, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, Sam Smith, Taylor Swift and more. What better way to wrap up a weekend celebrating Save The Music than to attend the biggest event of the season?
