We invite you to join our fight against cancer by sponsoring this signature event. One in three South Floridians will develop cancer during their lifetime. Yet the startling truth is that no one is ever ready for cancer that s where we come in. At Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, every patient and every family receives individualized, integrated care from prevention to diagnosis and treatment to survivorship. As the only University-based cancer center in the region, patients at Sylvester benefit from a team of leading physicians who work tirelessly to translate scientific research into breakthroughs; saving lives and advancing our understanding of this disease. OUR AMBITIOUS PLANS FOR THE FUTURE Long known as a leader in cancer care in the region, Sylvester is now setting its sights on becoming a global center of excellence. Under the leadership of Stephen D. Nimer, M.D., one of the nation s leading experts in Leukemia and Lymphoma and a former division chief at the nation s top cancer center, Sylvester has recruited over 50 leading researchers from across the country and rapidly expanded key research programs in the burgeoning fields of epigenetics, genomics, immunotherapy, and novel therapeutic the keys to future treatment options and eventually cures. Private philanthropy plays a critical role in fueling the growth of these new research programs and ultimately enhancing Sylvester s ability to offer the latest lifesaving treatments to South Floridians. Every gift made to the 2015 Gala will enable Sylvester to advance our research priorities and take one additional step in the fight against cancer! EVENT OVERVIEW Contemporary, influential musical performer, singer-songwriter and pianist, Sara Bareilles, known for her powerful music, including the pop anthem Brave, will take the stage to entertain and inspire. Community leader and compassionate advocate, Barbara Hecht Havenick will receive the prestigious Caroline W. Halpern Award for leadership and philanthropy. The 2015 Gala is chaired by Chanin & Adam Carlin under the direction of Lily Serviansky, Board of Governors Development Chair and Joan Scheiner, Board of Governors Chair. Before and after the Concert, guests will dine magnificently in the Ballroom, which will be transformed by WOW Productions. Guests may bid on fabulous items in the luxury silent auction, and can dance to the music of Juniors Band. A signature keepsake program book will recognize leadership and donors. 2

In 2011, Bareilles joined the judge s panel on the hit NBC show The Sing-Off.
