1 4th Quarter December 2016 New Medical Building in Downtown Under Construction A new 25,000 square foot multiphase project, known as Friendswood Complex, is underway in downtown Friendswood. The first phase currently under construction consists of a two-story, 10,224 square foot medical office building foot building which broke ground in November at 308 South Friendswood Complex - Phase I Friendswood Drive. The $1.2 million project is being developed by Dr. Mohsin Qayyum who will occupy 3,388 square feet for his psychiatric offices on the ground floor. The building is expected to be completed by May 2017 with approximately 1,775 square feet available for lease. Phase II of the development will consist of an additional 15,000 square feet which will extend toward the rear of the property. JSC Federal Credit Union Plans Second Branch in Friendswood JSC Federal Credit Union is constructing its second branch in the city. The 1,987 square foot

2 bank building will be located at 307 North Friendswood Drive. JSC Federal Credit Union, 307 N. Friendswood Dr. City Presents $10,000 Grant Check to Townes Square Center Community and Economic Development Committee, Brett Banfield, and Economic Development Committee and Karen Capps, City of Friendswood, delivered a $10,000 grant check to Craig Carver and Shelby Fuller of Craig Carver Group. The economic development municipal grant was for constructing a new 9,318 sf 2- story building at 3736 E. FM 528 and renovations to an existing 10,284 sf retail center. Live Here Work Here Featuring Angela Johnson, Owner of Angela Johnson Insurance Agency After outgrowing two previous lease spaces in Friendswood, in 2015, Angela Johnson decided to purchase property at 104 Melody Lane to build her own 3,650 square foot office building. A Friendswood resident since 1999, she opened Angela Johnson Insurance Agency in 2005 after having a career in the corporate world. As a professional insurance agent, Angela focuses on providing business, personal, and life insurance to her customers as well as life insurance retirement plans. She has six licensed agents who are dedicated in providing service to existing clients and new customers. Angela stated that as a Friendswood resident, she also wanted her business to be located in the city where it is conveniently accessible to her clients in Pearland, Clear Lake, and League City. She also loves hosting client events in her new office building's large conference room, such as the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace class that begins this coming January.

3 Even though Angela began her career in 2005 as an insurance agent, her involvement with insurance began long before then. Her grandparents sold insurance in Pasadena, Texas for over thirty years. Although she was in high school when they retired, one thing that she remembers about being in their office is that they were always on the telephone. Twenty years later, the same is still true for her spending most of her day talking with customers and prospects, explaining coverages and recommending products to protect and grow the assets of her clients and their families. Angela feels very lucky to work every day in the agency with her sister, Caroline, and husband, Ray. She also feels honored to be a member of the Presidents Council, which is bestowed to the top onepercent of agents based on training, knowledge, and customer service experience. Angela has been a member of the Friendswood Chamber of Commerce since 2014 and also enjoys supporting local teachers by purchasing supplies for their classrooms as well as participating in many local events. She is also a big supporter of the March of Dimes, a foundation known for helping fund the polio vaccine, as her grandfather had polio and was a quadriplegic, and is also involved with Women for Women International and Kiva.
