You can look forward to Santa, Mrs. Claus, reindeer, carriage rides, Christmas music, decorated windows, lighting of the tree, and open businesses all with hints of this special season. 6 Why do you give thanks? November is my favorite time of the year, because of the Thanksgiving holiday. Not only because Thanksgiving focuses on gathering with friends and family and indulging in an abundance of food, (yum!) but because the entire holiday is a focus on being thankful. If you look up thankful in the dictionary you find this: showing appreciation or gratitude; obtaining or deserving thanks, thankworthy; impressed with a sense of kindness received, and ready to acknowledge it, grateful. So what is there to be thankful for? Why do I need to be thankful? The bible says, Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. Philippians 4:11 Showing appreciation or gratitude.grateful.. It also says, Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give THANKS in ALL circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. I Thessalonians 5:16-18 Impressed with a sense of kindness received thankworthy And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 Deserving thanks ready to acknowledge it No matter what situation you find yourself, be thankful. While the optimists say, it could be better! the pessimists say, it could be worse! I say take stock in the moment to be content, thankful. Enjoy your friends and family. Enjoy the upcoming holiday season. And be thankful. As I am thankful for all of you.
