SMART ASSEMBLIES Dimensioning Rules
EDIT DIMENSIONING RULES
Main Element Geometry possible dimensioning options area and notes about current operation 2 preview of selected options effects 3 preview of elements, which are related to current tab 2 4 tabs for different dimensioning rules setup
Main Element Geometry Common Dimensioning in View Front elements in view switch on/off dimensioning of visible parts of main element in front view Side elements in View switch on/off dimensioning of inside parts of main element in view Back elements in view switch on/off dimensioning of not visible elements in view
Main Element Geometry Dimensioning rules Common and total dimension types select it to change dimensioning type from project standards Dimensioning rule choose where dimensions should be placed in the view nearest side, topleft or bottom-right First dimension line factor enter factor to define gap between element and first dimension line. See notes below
Main Element Geometry Non-standard cuts cuts which shape differ from rectangular Join dimension lines of non-standard cuts switch on/off to join or separate dimensioning lines of non-standard cuts Dimensioning rule choose where dimensions should be placed in view nearest side, or top-left and bottom-right
Main Element Geometry Standard cuts Join dimension lines of standard cuts switch on/off to join/separate dimensioning lines of standard cuts Join dimension lines of standard and non-standard cuts switch on/off to join /separate dimensioning lines of standard and non-standard cuts Dimensioning rule choose where dimensions should be placed in the view nearest side, topleft or bottom-right
Main Element Geometry Openings Join openings dimension lines switch on/off to join/separate dimensioning lines of openings Cut is opening if both dimensions are greater than enter dimension number to separate definition of cuts to openings Dimensioning rules choose where dimensions should be placed in the view nearest side, topleft or bottom-right
Main Element Geometry Split dimensions equally Split dimensions on equal segments switch on/off to join/separate equal dimensions to one line with the expression of times*distance=total distance Minimum number of equal segments to begin splitting minimum number of equal distances required to join equal dimensions to the one expression
Hosted Metal Details Common Dimensioning in View Front elements in view switch on/off dimensioning of visible parts of main element in front view Side elements in View switch on/off dimensioning of inside parts of main element in view Back elements in view switch on/off dimensioning of not visible elements in view
Hosted Metal Details Dimensioning Rules Only Total dimension switch on to have only total dimensions of hosted detail Lines in Geometry are a Priority switch on dimensions will snap to model lines inside hosted elements family (if you want dimensions to snap to middle of bolts add vertical model line in the center of bolt family), switch of dimensions will snap to outer edges of hosted elements
Hosted Metal Details Lines in Geometry are a Priority If you want to dimension hosted detail to a particular place, you have to edit family of the element and insert model lines. If there are no model lines in hosted element family, dimensions will be place on the edges of detail.
Hosted Metal Details Split dimensions equally Split dimensions on equal segments switch on/off to join/separate equal dimensions to one line with the expression of times*distance=total distance Minimum number of equal segments to begin splitting minimum number of equal distances to required join equal dimensions to one expression
Hosted Concrete Details Common Dimensioning in View Front elements in view switch on/off dimensioning of visible parts of main element in front view Side elements in View switch on/off dimensioning of inside parts of main element in view Back elements in view switch on/off dimensioning of not visible elements in view
Hosted Concrete Details Dimensioning rules Only Total dimension switch on to have only total dimensions of hosted detail
Hosted Concrete Details Split dimensions equally Split dimensions on equal segments switch on/off to join/separate equal dimensions to one line with the expression of times*distance=total distance Minimum number of equal segments to begin splitting minimum number of equal distances required to join equal dimensions to one expression
Rebar Bars Common Dimensioning in View Bars Parallel or Perpendicular to View Plane choose to show or hide dimensions between bars, include distance to host face or not
Rebar Bars Dimensioning Rules Dimensioning Rules choose where dimensions should be placed in view Nearest side, Top-left or Bottom-right Exclude rebar bars choose whether rebar bars should be dimensioned or not Switch on/off to show types of reinforcement which should be dimensioned in the view
Rebar Bars Dimensioning Rules Exclude rebar bars checked box. Put dimensions on single bar, outside boundary of element checked box. Exclude rebar bars unchecked box. Put dimensions on single bar unchecked box.
Rebar Bars Parallel bar sets Choose whether to show or not dimensions between parallel bar sets and whether to show the distance to the host face.
Rebar Bars Put dimensions for single bars Put dimensions on single bar tick this check box if you want to show dimensions for all bar segments. Put dimension on straight bar outside the boundary of element tick this check box to show dimensions of straight bar and to continue to host face. First dimension line factor enter factor to define gap between element and first dimension line. See notes below.
Rebar Bars Split dimensions on equality Split dimensions on equal segments switch on/off to join/separate equal dimensions to one line with the expression of times*distance=total distance Minimum number of equal segments to begin splitting minimum number of same distances to join equal dimensions to one expression
Dimensioning Priority & Notes Dimensioning Priority & Notes you can set up which dimensions and notes should be placed in your views and what information should be provided.
Dimensioning Priority & Notes Nr number means which dimension will be showed nearest to the main element. Use arrows to change priority of items Dimension uncheck to switch off dimensions for selected item Item name of an item Note uncheck to switch off notes of the selected item Quantity - uncheck to switch off quantity of the selected item Name enter name that will be shown in notes for selected item Description select information which should be showed in the notes of selected item Note: you can see preview of selected item to the right of this window.
Dimensioning Priority & Notes Set up information that you want to show on text note. There are 3 possible parameters for that. Select parameter on the right part of the window and press Remove, if you don t want to show it on the note. Enter Prefix or/and Suffix to show near parameter name. Use arrows to change order of parameters..
Dimensioning Priority & Notes Dimension Text Note Settings Text note type select note type from project standards Offset - enter distance from vertical dimension line to the note Text note position select aligned with dimension text will be underlined or at the center of dimension line Create text note choose whether to show or hide text notes
Note Positioning Two options here: 1. Put notes on dimension lines show notes on selected side of dimensions top/bottom/left/right; 2. Connect dimension lines dimension lines for the same items are connected and one note is showed. Note: switch off both, to turn off notes on drawings.
