NEW METHOD FOR PUBLISHING ONTARIO PROVINCIAL STANDARDS With this publication of the Ontario Provincial Standards comes a new method of publishing the standards, both specifications and drawings. Now the Ontario Provincial Standards are available online with free access on the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) Library site at: < At this URL, you will find the latest versions of the published standards, archives of the previously published standards, Revision Information Sheets for currently and previously published standards, indexes for each OPS volume, and OPS User Notes. Hard-copy paper versions of the standards are available through Publications Ontario and may be ordered online for a nominal fee at: < At this URL, you can type Ontario Provincial Standards in the search box, and all related products for the Ontario Provincial Standards will be listed, click on the item you wish to purchase, add the item to your cart, then follow the instructions to complete your order. Hard-copy versions of OPS Volumes 1 to 3 are sold as an item, and OPS Volume 4 is sold separately. Planned for December release will be OPS Volumes 1 to 4 in PDF format on CD and OPS Volumes 3 and 4 in AutoCAD format on a separate CD. Most revisions to the Ontario Provincial Standards are published at the end of November each year. There may also be a limited publishing at the end of April each year for issuing OPSS 127, Schedule Of Rental Rates For Construction Equipment, Including Model And Specification Reference; correcting errors in recently published standards; and issuing time-sensitive revised standards. The Ontario Provincial Standards for Roads and Public Works organization is working with Publications Ontario to develop a system of notifying OPS users, regardless of the source from which they purchased their hard-copy standard volumes. Every effort is being made to ensure a smooth transition from one publisher to the next so OPS users are made aware of revisions to the standards as they are published.
