3 OUR OUTDOOR IS OPEN The colors. The silence. The sounds. The wildlife. The parks. The cold, snowy winter season offers a special take on nature. Blue shadows slant across sparkly white landscapes. Much of nature is sleeping and everything seems very still, while at the same time wind through the trees and a single, sharp bird call pierce the silence. The tracks of deer, rabbits and birds tell the stories of where wildlife are sleeping, eating and traveling. And the parks still beckon visitors to the trails and to the beauty. Winter is a special season. Enjoy it at Preservation Parks. 1

6 COMING IN 2019: WORLD OF WATER More than 75% of planet Earth is water. It is the life force that flows through every living plant and animal. Billions of organisms big and small live in it, drink it, bathe in it, raise their young in it and eat the food it provides. Humans rely on water for everything from growing our food to providing electricity that powers our homes. It is an invaluable resource that is too often taken for granted. Celebrate water in its many forms in 2019 with Preservation Parks during the World of Water. Interactive summer exhibits at Deer Haven Park and Shale Hollow Park, along with fun and educational water-themed programs throughout the year, will highlight the importance of water on planet Earth. Step into your water shoes, grab your dip net or kayak, and embark on a watery adventure with Preservation Parks! 4 PRESERVATIONPARKS.COM WINTER
