3 DISCOVER THE WORLD IN THE PLACE YOU CALL HOME UNEXPECTED MOMENTS of discovery and connection. That s what you ll find in the parks and trails of Preservation Parks. The parks are around the corner or down the road. They are your backyard. The trails meander though woodlands and around wetlands, across meadows and into ravines. Around the bend in the trail might be a doe and her fawns, as interested in you as you are in them. You ll hear the babble of the creek at Shale Hollow and the giggles of your children as they feel the water rush past their bare feet. Our nature and farm programs will open your mind to a better understanding of the world we live in, and the World of Water theme will make you think in new ways about the cycle of life. These are your parks, and they are right around the corner, in the place you call home. 1
