3 2017 Award Announcement BALL Fresh Preserving AWARD For Youth Level presented by: BALL & KERR Fresh Preserving PRODUCTS In recognition of youth who excel in the art of fresh preserving (canning), Jarden Home Brands, who bring you Ball and Kerr Fresh Preserving Products will present First Place Awards in designated recipe categories. Judges will select the best entry submitted by a youth in each category for Fruit, Vegetable, Pickle and Soft Spread. Entries must be preserved in Ball or Ball Collection Elite Jars sealed with Ball Lids and Bands or Ball Collection Elite Lids and Bands, or preserved in Kerr Jars sealed with Kerr Lids and Bands. In addition, soft spread entries will be limited to recipes prepared using Ball Pectin: Original, No Sugar Needed or Liquid. A proof of purchase for Ball pectin must be provided at time of entry. The best entry from each category will receive Two (2) Five-Dollar ($5) Coupons for Ball or Kerr Fresh Preserving Products and one (1) Free (up to $5 value) Coupon for Ball Pectin.. Plants will not be accepted for exhibition unless they have been growing in containers for 2 months. 4. The management will not undertake to return exhibits, nor be responsible for the return of exhibits. Baskets or containers must be supplied by exhibitors and will be given every possible care, but management assumes no responsibility for their safety. 5. Flowers or plants entered for competition must be more than ordinary standard and quality to be entitled to an award. 6. The management may, at any time, order the removal of any exhibit that is in bad condition. Any article manifestly unfit to show may be excluded. 7. Exhibitor, except in arrangement classes, must grow all entries. 8. No exhibit may be removed at any time before the close of the exhibition except by consent of management. 9. The judge may withhold awards where they feel the entry is not worthy. The judge's decision will be final. 10. Exhibits must conform to the number of blooms, spikes or stems specified in each class. 11. Flowers in each entry must be one color and variety unless otherwise stated. 17
