1 FALL 2014 The Fabric Patch 220 Tenth Ave SW Ephrata, WA (509) Worth the drive from anywhere!! Hello!! I hope you have all enjoyed your summer! I did. I always enjoy the growing season but it is unfortunate it interferes with my sewing. I find myself a bit behind schedule. I have been working on new samples and blocks for our new classes, clubs and block-of-the-months. I am looking forward to the big reveal on September 27th!! I am so excited! We have some REALLY fun projects planned. I like it to be a surprise, but this time I did give a big tease on page 5. You ll want to come and check everything out - sign up early to save your place! We have something for everyone. A series for beginners, an appliqué quilt, an adorable perpetual calendar, one of Sue Spargo s patterns, a precut class. and LOTS more!! We are still working on Spring/Summer block-of-the-month classes. Bertie s Year patterns and kits are still available for those of you that would like to participate.

Rainbow Garden is our beautiful wool appliqué quilt by Heart to Hand. This easy but striking quilt is wool on primitive cotton backgrounds.

We are on block #6. Merry Meets Modern is a fun Christmas quilt using the ultra modern Bella Solids. There are 10 pieced blocks, 10 appliqué blocks and 10 setting blocks. Four classes left!

There are women who blazed the trail before us, leaving us with quilts and remnants of both fabrics and stories of how they lived, and what quilts meant to them.

Gather together as the "Prairie Women" did, and hear anecdotal stories about their quilt making, and what daily life was like for those who traveled by wagon train on the Oregon Trail.

A new series starts the first Wednesday in October! Blockwatchers is a fun club with a new focus every year. This season we will continue to concentrate on our round robin class/exchange. It is a fun way to learn interesting border techniques and get a special quilt finished by friends!! You bring a center block/panel and 6 half yards of fabric that you would like used. We swap each month following a discussion about great border options, repeating this process each month for four months. When you finally see your block again it is a lovely wallhanging or quilt!! This is a fun way to get a project completed by someone else!! Class size limited to 12. Only $20 for complete 4 month series!! Not appropriate for beginners. We love fusible appliqué projects! Super simple, but stunning results, all in four easy steps: trace, iron, cut, iron. Snow Buds is by McKenna Ryan. It is nine 14 inch blocks that can done individually or sewn together into a big winter quilt. We still have patterns available. Our classroom series ends in November.

This is because we always wait until participants sign up. Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays...we just want the class to be 10-4pm the time that is convenient for you. It would be tragic for you to have to skip a desired class because it was scheduled for a time you were unavailable. Sign up for the class you want - but act quickly so we get the time you would like. Open house is September 27th, club series dates and times will be determined by October 1st. The complete BOM flyer will be ed at the end of the day on September 27th so you won t miss out if you are busy, however, special gifts and pricing specials are for attendees, first come first get.

Of course we will also have our usual cookies, coffee, tea and demonstrations, as well as free coupon books with every purchase (see back page). This darling row quilt will be completed in one day!! This is a bright Christmas quilt, 68 x 72, completed just in time for Christmas cuddling. This is a perfect class for a beginner who wants to learn two new techniques, an experienced quilter will enjoy the speed of piecing a quilt like this, and all of the extra gift items that the pattern comes with! We are hosting this class at the retreat center, where we will serve you lunch and snacks Class is only $35 which includes instruction, pattern booklet, lunch, snacks and beverages. Complete fabric kit available in two different colorways for $54 which includes binding.

7 FALL 2014 PAGE 7 For the past 15 years we have scheduled over 2800 classes. Unbelievable isn t it!! How many have you taken?? I try to teach everything that is requested, so if your favorite techniques or events have not shown up, please speak up. You can see me in the shop or me. We can easily add to the calendar, and of course if at least three do not sign up, we will take it away. We have found that our quilters generally like to be in a club or series so they can develop friendships and a sense of community, and we certainly like that too!! However, there are some clubs that are monthly, but priced individually so you can just come occasionally, these include Pincushion Club and the Pre-Cut Association; where you complete one project that day.
