PROJECT CLASSES START QUILTING Make new friends and learn a new skill when taking Start Quilting at Stitching on State. Over the course of five weeks you will learn everything from basic rotary cutting, strip piecing, simple machine quilting, to putting a binding on. We will work on three small projects. Learn how to make a simple rail fence wall hanging, a nine patch checker board, then learn to make half square triangles and flying geese to create a beautiful table runner. Whether you are a self taught quilter looking for some formal training or a new quilter wanting to learn a new skill, this is a great place to begin. Come join the wonderful world of quilting! 3 STARS & STRIPES TABLE RUNNER I enjoy decorating for the Holidays and making things to decorate with. During the summer months I decorate Patriotic; red, white and blue. This runner is easy piecing and easy to assemble. It looks great on your table or, if you are having a party and/or barbeque, why not spice up your buffet table? 5 MACHINE QUILTING Do you have a collection of quilt tops waiting to be quilted? Are you unsure of where or how to begin quilting them? Here is the perfect class for you! Learn how to quilt your quilts at home on your sewing machine. Learn about needles, thread, batting, and marking tools. The first class teaches machine guided techniques using your walking feet. During the second class you will drop your feed dogs and learn just how easy free motion quilting can be. This class will help you build the confidence needed to quilt your own quilts. The arcs in this amazing quilt are long and gentle which makes them easy to sew. Simply choose 12 contrasting fabrics and create this beautiful 50" x 70" quilt top. Want to try the technique but do not what to commit to a quilt? Not a problem, 6 fat quarters can be turned into a table runner or wall hanging. We will stack fabrics in sets of 6, cut curves, shuffle, then sew back together. The blocks are then squared up to a uniform size. Sounds simple! This quilt is a true work of art! 7 TRADITIONAL HANDWORK CATHEDRAL WINDOWS Learn the technique of traditional cathedral window blocks all done by hand. Great blocks to create while sitting, relaxing at home or on the go. So l et's get together and create an adorable tree skirt, great for gifting to a special person, or to replace the one you have been using for years. The cute little snowmen are from Nancy Halvorsen's book Easy Does It For Winter. Learn how to cut one big circle for your base. Snowmen and trees are appliqued onto your large circle. 9 RAW EDGE MACHINE APPLIQUE' Want to know how to appliqué using the Raw Edge techniques? This course concentrates on different stitch techniques for machine raw-edge appliquéing. You will learn about needles, threads, tensions, machine settings, stabilizers and fusible web. You will also practice on different shapes using your zig-zag, satin and/or blanket stitches and do a small project from start to finish using your new appliqué techniques. 10 SCRAPPY PINEAPPLE As long as we still have requests for this beautiful quilt, we will keep offering the class! Come learn how to use the Trash to Treasure Pineapple Tool to turn your fabric stash into a truly beautiful quilt. This is the perfect tool to make beautiful 8 inch pineapple blocks. You will be surprised at how easy it is to create different looks by working within a color theme or by simply adding sashing. Plan on spending the day at the quilt shop playing with your fabric. 11 SPRINKLES QUILT Create this adorable baby quilt that any new mother will love. This quilt is not difficult to make. You will learn to work with bias fabric and more important there are no "Y" seams. You can also enlarge the stars to create a larger quilt but we will be making the baby quilt in class only. It has a zip closures and measures 7"x 9". It is fully lined and has a back pocket. Great to take to events! Straps can be made long so it is a cross body bag. Here is the perfect chance to get out with your quilting friends and work on completing some of your UFOs. All caught up? (I WISH) then feel free to begin something new. Come at 6pm to be locked into the quilt shop where you will be free to sew, shop, snack, and visit with fellow quilters. Terri will be on hand to help you whenever needed. Dessert will be served about 9pm, and you do not have to go home until midnight. Think how much you can get done without interruptions. 12 STITCHERS GARDEN WORKSHOP Have you taken the Stitcher's Garden Class but still need to work on it? Join us for a day of help if you need it or come to see some of the completed projects Instructor: Jann Bray Workshop Fee: $15 Session: One 5 1/2 hour session Date: Friday, May 18 Time: 10-4:00 pm PINEAPPLE REVISIT Are you still working on pineapple blocks from one of Stitching on States pineapple classes? Here is your opportunity to come back to the classroom to continue making blocks. If you have already finished your quilt, feel free to join us and begin another pineapple quilt. You can get a totally different look by adding sashing or by controlling your color placement. Feel free to use the pineapple tool or the mini pineapple ruler. We will begin with a quick review of block construction, then you will be free to piece the day away. Lunch will be served, so all you have to is play with your fabric scraps and create more beautiful pineapple blocks. You may even see some of your classmates! NOTE: you must have taken one of the past pineapple classes taught by Terri in order to enroll in this class. Workshop Fee: $15 Sessions: One 7 hours session Date: Saturday, July 28 Time: 9:30am - 4:30pm SASSY STITCHERS CLUB Come join us as we start a new Mystery Quilt in Jan. Clues will be given each month to make a stunning 51 x 68 quilt. Of course you can always make bigger quilt by adding borders. Lots of show and tell is shared by all in addition to lots of yummy treats. 13 6D (and More) SOFTWARE CLUB Don t let your Pfaff or Viking software sit idle in your computer. Join the club and learn all there is to know about 6D (and Premier + and Premier +2) software! Every session is self contained so no need to have been to other sessions. If you do not own the complete suite, check the schedule and attend when the modules you own are featured. **My plan is to incorporate 6D, 6D Premier and Premier 2 Plus in one class. Help me learn more about what you all would like to see and learn!
