2 Owner-classes provide you hands -on instruction for your Baby Lock & Brother machine. In addition to learning all the great features that your new machine has, we will also teach many sewing techniques, so that you can take a full advantage of all the capabilities available. You can take these classes in any order, once you have taken class #1. These classes are FREE, if you purchased the machine from Quilts and Lace (You can take them as many time as you want). Otherwise the fee is $60 per class. We ask that you register for the class (even if it is free), so that we will have enough supplies available. COMPUTER AND EMBROIDERY SOFTWARE CLASSES We carry several embroidery software products: Baby Lock Palette, Designer s Gallery, Brother PE Design, BES4 Lettering, DIME and Floriani. Embroidery software classes provide you hands-on instructions on your embroidery software. These classes are FREE, if you purchased the software from Quilts and Lace (and you can take them as many time as you want). Otherwise the class fee is $50 per class. Please, contact us to schedule your embroidery software classes (even if it is free). Register via phone ( ), (beth@quiltsandlace.com), or in person. Please, bring your laptop computer with the software, reader box/dongle, and the manual, as well as pen/pencil, notepad, and highlighter (optional). Basic PC skills are required before taking these classes. We offer also basic PC lessons ( Windows for Embroiderers ), if you need a refresher. Floriani Total Control Pro & FTC-U - Embroidery Software Lessons Allan will teach a series of Floriani software classes. He will cover basics, editing of designs, lettering and digitizing. Wed August 3 pm Windows for Embroiderers - Basic PC Lessons We offer basic PC lessons, This class is for the beginner who is new to computers and/or would like to improve her/his computer skills for a better understanding of embroidery software. This covers Windows 7 to 10. We will start from organizing your computer, zip and unzip files, view multiple windows, downloading and purchasing designs on the web then loading these designs into your embroidery machine. The classes are always customized based on the needs and questions of the students :) Please, bring your laptop computer (if available), notepad, and pen/pencil. Embroidery Club If you own an embroidery machine or are considering buying one, please, join us on the 3rd Monday of most months from 2-4 pm to learn additional techniques in the world of machine embroidery. This class is open for any embroidery machine brand. This is a lecture-demo class; we create a project using embroidery software which you can stitch out later at home. So all you need to bring is your enthusiasm, laptop and/or memory stick :) We have special pricing on some of the supplies used in the month s project. Fee: $10 per session. One year FREE, if you purchased your embroidery machine or software at Quilts and Lace. Please, register and pay for the club meeting (Register even if it is free)! Serger Club If you own a serger, join us on the 1st Thursday of most months at 10am-12N OR 2-4 pm to learn serger techniques, while making a small project. We welcome any serger brand owners! Bring your serger with its accessories and manual. Fee: $10 per session + supplies (for some projects we will have kits available). Join us on the 2nd Wednesday of most months (some exceptions due to events and holidays) at 10am - 12N OR 2-4 pm to learn possible uses of feet and accessories, while making a small project. Class fee is $30, supplies are not included. Decorator Pillow using the Coverstitch on Serger with Aira This chic pillow is actually a study in decorative serger techniques. A band of serger pintucks, a strip of piping inserted by serger and a cover stitch is used as topstitching on a narrow band with turned edges. A decorative chain stitch creates a diamond grid in contrasting thread. The resulting look is very stylish and easy to accomplish. Class fee is $35 includes pattern but not supplies. Sashiko Bag with Aira A Flap of the Month Project FOM What a marvelous machine our Sassy Girl is! Here she helped to quilt the base of a pretty bag. But why is the backside of this bag shown? Well, we plan to make a few interchangeable flaps for it in the upcoming classes to use those various techniques which are so easy with the Sashiko machine. This first class will get you started with some basic stitching, so you will be ready for additional techniques later. Class fee is $35 but does not include supplies. Mystery Quilt with Diana Cost is $5/session includes pattern. Jump in anytime to obtain prior clues for $5. Total of 6 clues. Kimberbell THAT S SEW CHENILLE: CHRISTMAS HOT PADS project with Cherri Cherri will cheerfully take you through the steps of in the hoop embroidery. You will make the Santa hot pad in this class. Holiday Bowl using My Design Center/IQ Designer with Aira This project is a modified Floriani project where we can utilize our wonderful Dream Machine and Destiny to personalize our bowl. The embroidery file is created in the Designer area of the embroidery machine and then stitched in the hoop! A little bit of the sewing is needed for the sides to give our bowl a nice shape. The holly berries and a bow is attached so that you are ready for the holidays! Class fee is $45. Supplies are not included. Serger Retreat 9 Techniques with Aira Two days of advanced training in serger techniques will make you feel like a pro. Do not miss this smorgasbord of ways to use your serger. Applique Pillow with Aira Learn numerous methods of applique with the sewing machine and bring it all together with pizzazz on this holiday pillow class. The Baby Lock Sashiko is an amazing machine: you can quilt, couch, make fringe, apply ribbons, make ruffles and even flowers! A great place to learn and display the techniques is a dust cover for the Sashiko machine. Since it would take several classes to make the entire cover, we will concentrate on the front panel of this cover. The rest of quilting and construction is homework. Fee: $60. Nothing says homemade like poor quality lettering. In this 5-hour class, students will learn the theory and practice of creating high-quality embroidered lettering. In the first part of the day, we ll cover software features to help you create your best lettering ever, and in the second part of the day, we ll stitch examples, round-robin style. Quilt without Corners with Beth There is a little homework prior to class on this one, but then I will teach you how to do the Jazzy Jolt Quilts in a Jiffy! Debbie's textiles show her passion for the all the arts. Her work has been exhibited internationally and throughout the United States. In addition to her one-of-a-kind creations, she spends her time teaching, hosting retreats and doing commission work. Her attention to detail is what sets her apart from the average quilter especially when it comes to thread painting. Her specialty is thread painting animals, people and scenes which look more realistic than the actual photograph she used as inspiration. The long arm is her favorite machine and she pushes it to its limits and creates new and exciting techniques. She has many new and exciting programs for the new owner and potential buyers.
