1 September-December 2018 Class & Club Schedule 40 W 37th St, New York, NY Social Sewing - $49 Get work done on your current project while having fun socializing. You ll have access to our sewing machines, design wall, cutting mats, irons and of course, a knowledgeable teacher. Alternating Fridays and Saturdays, 6-10pm Select Friday & Saturday afternoons, 2-6pm Quilt Lab - $30/year Quilt Lab is members-only club were we experiment and grow as quilters and artists. We have monthly "challenge" themes, share inspiration and ideas, and critique each others' work. Second Thursday of the month, 6-8pm Longarm Certification Class - $150 We offer longarm rental on our 18 AQPS Lenni longarm quilting machine to quilt your own quilts. Take this class to be certified to rent time on the longarm. Choose one 11am-4pm session: 9/7, 9/21, 10/5, 10/12, 10/21, 11/9, 11/30, 12/14 More info & registration at: Into to Machine Sewing - $50 Learn the basics of using a sewing machine and get some practice by making a small pin cushion. No sewing experience necessary. Thursdays, 9/6 1-3pm OR 6-8pm, 11/15 1-3pm OR 6-8pm, 12/6 1-3pm OR 6-8pm Friday Sew-In - $25 A self-guided evening where participants bring their own projects to work on while bouncing ideas off each other, sharing inspiration, and having fun. There is no instructor for Sew-in. Fridays, 9/28, 11/23, OR 12/21 6-8pm Patchwork & Quilting Basics - $135 In this two-session class, you will learn all the basics to making a quilt while making a mini quilt. Choose either 10am-1pm or 6-9pm on: 9/11 & 9/18 OR 11/1 & 11/8 Empire Quilters Guild Bead Embroidery Workshop - $100 Teacher: Nancy Eha Learn how to replicate embroidery stitches with beads such as beaded variations of the chain stitch, buttonhole, fly, cretan, and how to create beaded berries on fabric. No prior beading experience necessary. Friday, 9/7 11am-5pm Doll Making Social - $75 Join Nancy Rabatin for a monthly all-day Doll Making party. Bring your current doll project with you to work on, and bounce ideas off your fellow classmates or just take inspiration from the dolls around you. Sundays, 9/9, 10/7, 11/4, OR 12/2 11am-4pm 1

2 2 Quilt Binding Workshop - $75 This workshop will cover the basics of binding, and focus on the tricky parts like getting sharp corners and joining the ends. We will go over the traditional method of finishing the binding by hand as well as attaching it entirely by machine. Wednesday, 9/12 1-4pm OR 6-9pm My Small World Quilt - $175 This monthly class leads you through a variety of hand and machine sewing techniques to make the My Small World quilt. Applique, english paper piecing, foundation paper piecing & embroidery all in one project. Fridays, 9/14, 10/5, 11/2, 12/7 2-4pm Class registration closes a week before the class starts. Don't delay in signing up! "Inside Aurifil" Lecture - $15 Alex Veronelli, the Chief Business Development Officer at Aurifil, will be giving a behind-the-scenes look at Aurifil manufacturing, as well as covering the different thread weights and their best uses, upcoming releases, and more. Each attendee will go home with a goodie bag! Wendnesday, 9/19 3-4:30pm or 6-7:30pm The Squareburst Quilt - $135 Learn how to make Justin s first quilt pattern, the lovely Squareburst quilt! A modern take on the dresden plate, this striking quilt can feature any combination of colors, or all the colors! Justin will help students with their fabric choices and layout to make sure everyone has a pleasing gradation. Saturday, 9/22 10am-5pm Sunday, 9/ pm Sew Organized Ditty Bags - $125 Pretty and practical, these zippered bags with side loop handles are quick and easy to make. ByAnnie s Soft and Stable gives them great body and stability, and with a clear vinyl lining they are easy to clean. Boho Embroidery Workshop - $115 Learn to use different fabrics for the background and foreground, and add embroidery, beads, and other embellishments to add details and depth to your one-of-a-kind hoop art. Saturday, 9/29 11am-4pm Intro to Patchwork & Quilting - $255 In this 3-part class you ll learn the basics of making a quilt. Everything from how to read a pattern and use a rotary cutter, to quilting and binding will be covered. We ll be using our free Charming pattern, which is comprised of easy-to-piece squares and rectangles. Wednesdays, 10/3, 10/10 & 10/ pm OR 5-9pm

Did you know you can use fabric and cotton batting to sew accessories like rugs and placemats? Learn all the steps to make a Jelly Roll Rug while making scaled-down versions of the pattern that make perfect placemats. Friday, 10/ pm OR 5-9pm The North Quilt - $135 Teacher: Giucy Giuce Play with color while learning tips and tricks for successful foundation paper piecing with fabric and quilt designer Giucy Giuce! His North quilt pattern is a great way to practice making your points perfect and your stars align. Saturday, 10/20 10am-5pm "Balls!" an intro to English Paper Piecing - $125 Teacher: Reyna de Courcy In this two-session class, students will learn the easy-tomaster technique of English Paper Piecing, and get started by making balls. The balls can become toys, tree ornaments, accent pillows, pincushions, juggling balls, sachets, and more. Tuesday, 10/23 & 10/30 1-4pm OR 6-9pm Ribbon Quilts Workshop - $135 Teacher: Sarah Bond Using solid fabrics as a starter, explore the power of strip piecing and experimentation with color gradations, size gradations & alternations of solid fabrics with other fabrics to design original ribbon quilts. Saturday, 10/27 10am-5pm Sew Organized Project Bags - $125 Great for organizing your projects, these handy totes in four sizes have sturdy quilted bases & fun fabric details. 4 Intro to Quiltmaking by Hand - $255 Teacher: Tahli de Courcy Learn all the steps to making a mini quilt entirely by hand, including drawing blocks, cutting fabrics, piecing, basting, and tying or quilting. Forego the sewing machine and choose the slow stitching route with your quilting! Sundays, 10/28, 11/4, 11/18 & 11/25 1-4pm Saturday, 11/3 11am-3pm Patches the Cat Stuffie - $95 Learn the basics of sewing stuffed animals while making this adorable cat! The cat stands 14 tall and is great as a toy for children or just a cute decoration for a cat lover. Embroider Your Words - $75 Stitch what s on your mind! Using one of several embroidery transfer fonts, stitch your feelings into a small project that you can then turn into a wall hanging, pillow, or more. Learn several stitches appropriate for wording. By turning your text into Morse code, your quilt can say something in a more subtle way than by using letters. Tuesdays, 11/13 & 10/20 1-4pm OR 6-9pm Intro to Free Motion Quilting - $99 Teacher: Ivete Tecedor Quilt impressive-looking designs on your quilt using your home sewing machine.
