I am always excited about the prospect of a new year. Fresh beginnings! A new calendar! A chance to take my resolutions in hand and get things DONE! Am I the only one who still makes new year's resolutions? What do you have planned for the coming year? I'm looking forward to my first year as your new President, and all of the inspiring speakers, exciting classes, and soon-to-be-finished projects that the new year will bring! Wow two years has flown by, I cannot believe it has come to an end. It has been an honor to be your President you made my job so easy by your constant support and encouragement. I know I must have exasperated some of you at times ha-ha, but I cannot even begin to thank you all for all the wonderful things you have done to make our Guild one of the very best in our area. I also want to thank the OPQG Board members for all their support and help. I have enjoyed this time working with a fantastic board for both years. I also know that without your help and support we could not have done our job. Thank you quilting sisters, for your continued help and support for our guild. Let us welcome our new president, Angie Horne, and the 2019 OPQG board members. I am sure that Angie will do a fantastic job as our new president. I am so excited to see what our new president and board members will be planning for us. Knowing Angie, it will be Fun and Out of this World. I want to personally thank you for your gracious and beautiful going away gift to me. I was so overcome by the beautiful quilt that was presented to me at our Christmas party. I am very humble by your encouraging words on the quilt blocks and I will always treasure this wonderful gift. I am so proud to call you my quilting sisters, my quilting family. It probably sounds sappy to say, I love you all..but hey, I Love You All. 2 Last message from the outgoing Chairman: With this Christmas party, my term ends for Moonlighters' Chairman. It's been fun, and I enjoyed my term. All of my various chairmen did a wonderful job over the last two years. Our Christmas party was a blast and the food was awesome, as usual. And I loved the appliqued cat blocks everyone made for me! Thank you all for your support during my twoyear term. Welcome Susan McMillan as our new chairman; I look forward to her leadership and I'm sure lots of new ideas. Merry Christmas to all, and a Happy, Healthy New Year! Virginia Brile CAMP FIRE WORK DAYS: We will be scheduling several 3-day workshops to work on quilts for the Paradise survivors. The first is January 3-5, we can only work on Community Service Quilts since the Grange is giving us two days for free, it will be pot luck every day. There are several Fabric Manufacturers that are sending us fabric and we will have lots of batting. Please come and help us out and bring your own patterns if you like. REGULAR RETREAT: We are having a regular retreat (you can work on anything you want) March 7-9. Deby Hendrickson will be there to clean/repair your sewing machines on the 7th & 8th if we have enough machines for her to work on. Please let me know if you want to be added to the list. Sharon Helton, Speakers: Our speaker in January will be Jennifer Rapacki, her topic is Creativity Unleashed, Modern Technology. After lunch she will have a class on woven backgrounds which should be a lot of fun, see Linda Pearson to sign up for the class. Sharon Helton, Workshops: We have a great line up of workshops for We start the year off with a 3-day retreat January 3,4,5. We will be working on quilts for fire survivors. Come with an idea or pattern. If you need fabric there will be fabrics to choose from. Lunch will be potluck. On January 19 we are having a workshop with our speaker Jennifer Rapaki in the afternoon. Let me know if you signed up and didn t get a supply list. On February 7th Donna Greenwald is teaching her lilac class.i will have a signup sheet for it. Class is $35 which includes class and supplies. Thank you to all that have donated quilts, hats, did binding, quilting or took on extra jobs that I have asked. Collectively we had 166 quilts and 12 hats turned in. Drumroll please, we donated 202 quilts and 12 hats to the community. We will be having community service sew days, hope all can attend. We have more work to do. Merry Christmas! Jeanette welcomed everyone to our annual Christmas party.

5 She called upon our treasurer to present the proposed budget for Marla reviewed the information she had passed out to everyone. Budget for 2019 General fund is $10440 Balance as of 12/6/2018 is $12111 Budget for 2019 Raffle fund is $11800 Balance as of 12/6/2018 is $12147 Total Budget for 2019 is $22240 A motion was made to accept the proposed budget by Jan Owens, 2 nd by Mary Kay Haughey. Motion passed. Jan Owens reported she did some research for organizations that are working with the fire victims of the Campfire. She listed several agencies. There will be more discussion early next year. Jeanette thanked all outgoing officers and chairman. She also introduced our incoming president Angie Horne. Addendum to the minutes: Angie Horne presented a quilt top to Jeanette Akin with signature blocks made by most of the members. The winning ticket was drawn by Marla Vaughn for our opportunity quilt for 2018, the winning ticket was purchased by Tiffany Sasek, one of our members. Tiffany was called, and she was available to come by and pick up her new quilt.
