If a student drops a course, it is their responsibility to contact the North Hills Art Center. No refunds are given after the first class or day of camp. 4 3 Workshops WS-104 Lovely Silver Nests Ages 18-Adult Come and make a pendant or a pair of earrings decorated with silver strings and balls shaped into a nest design. Decorate the other side to create a unique piece of reversible silver art! Beginners are welcome! Those with previous metal clay experience can improve their design skills and learn new construction techniques. Learn basic skills, or improved your existing skills. Participant in this class will learn new ways to blend colors, create texture, and depict surfaces in order to create vibrant colors and realistic drawings. This class can accommodate inexperienced and moderately experienced colored pencil artists. Materials list will be provided upon registration. 7 Pottery Classes 6 A-46 Tuesday Morning Pottery Ages 14-Adult Registration deadline: July 3 If you have always wanted to try the wheel, hand build, or need a refresher, this class is for you. Students will create various clay projects of their own choice in a relaxed studio with personal attention. Stoneware and Raku clay available. The last class focuses on glazing. Class fee includes clay, glaze, firing & use of tools. Ages 14-Adult Registration deadline: July 12 This six week, 12-hour pottery class explores all the aspects of working with clay. Students will learn to hand build and wheel throw while being able to experience a variety of clays and glazing techniques. If interested, a raku firing will be scheduled. Advanced students welcome and encouraged to further develop their skills. Class fee includes clay, glaze, firing, and use of tools. 9 Kids Classes-cont. 8 C-95 Landscapes Painting with Pastels Ages 12-16, Registration deadline: June 17 This class is designed for serious art students who want to create nature inspired masterpieces. Instructions will include developing your composition and basic strategies for adapting to painting images of outdoors. Quick value and color studies will assist in setting the stage for a complete painting. Ultimately, your goal will be to capture the essence of the setting in your own personal style! Instructor will guide you through step-by-step lessons by demonstrating how to depict water, sky, trees, mountains etc. All materials included. Let us use the beautiful colors of the rainbow to create vibrant artwork. We will learn color mixing, tie dye, paint and create 3D pieces! This camp takes you through projects designed to take your abilities to the next level & spark your creative juices! 11 Art Parties 10 Experience the Arts with Us! The North Hills Art Center (NHAC) was founded in 1959 as the Artists' and Craftsmen's Guild by a group of dedicated artists who understood the importance of having a permanent haven where people throughout the North Hills and surrounding areas could come and learn, express themselves, and appreciate all forms of art. Today, amateurs and professionals alike enjoy that vision in the North Hills Art Center, where they can exhibit their artwork and benefit from the camaraderie found in our classes, open studio sessions and private parties. Painting Parties for Adults! Come create with us in a relaxed and private party setting. The art center can accommodate parties of 8-35 participants. We supply the art instructor, all painting supplies and the entire upstairs for your group. You may bring snacks and BYOB wine/beer. The event instruction lasts about 2 hours, with a short period before and after for set up/break down. Choose your painting design from a variety of sample canvases and come join us! For birthday memories that last a lifetime, we are pleased to offer a unique birthday party experience for children ages 5 & up. Our party instructor will work with you to make your child s party special by combining art, with creativity and fun! Scouting Workshops! We can provide your troop with the requirements needed to complete projects and earn your merit badges. All workshops require a minimum of 5 scouts in attendance.
